upcomming rust recall??

anybody hear about any upcomming recall for body corrosion of the surface on 2003 sedans? I've been talking to my mecanic about a bit of rust that's on back door behind the passenger I was gonna go to a body shop to fix it but the infiniti mech told me to wait.

I'm just wondering if anyone has heard the same. Q45tech can you confirm?

No, but do you live in up north (Michigan) where salt is thrown on streets? Or coastal areas where rust might be common on older vehicles?

Haven't seen a recall, but Infiniti has the corrosion warranty, I believe it's for 7 years, that should cover it. I damn sure wouldn't be taking it to a body shop. if they mess with that area, it will void the warranty on that portion I'm sure.

How is the car rusting? Did you chip the paint and let rust bubble under or something? I only ask because if the paint remains intact you shouldn't see any rust. I'm in Toronto ('03 sedan, 100k km) and I have no rust.

there's paint bubbles on the door vertical panel and from the inside I can see some surface rust. I've just spoke again with the dealer and said it should be soon and that infact there is a recall comming up and we should receive a letter. Donno if other than 03 models apply.

will keep you guys posted.

Holy crap...now we are rusting!?! It would appear that the 03s were a testbed for many things...rusting was not one that comes to mind though...

Major bubbles

Mines has major bubbles on the driver's side vertical panel and behind the panel (when door is open), the whole inside's rusted. I'll show you guys some pics soon so you'll understand what I mean. Besides that, the whole body is in top shape, no rust. I wonder if I can just bring it to the dealer and ask them to fix it since it's still under corrosion warranty or wait for the recall?

The dealer seems confident a recall was comming soon but I don't think it'll hurt to ask if it can be done on the corrosion warranty.

Just for reference, I've got an early 03.5 sedan (october 2002), and 37k miles on it.
