Question ? on lowering 04 AT sedan....New to forum

I'm new to the forum and have been looking at what is the best solution to lower my 04 Sedan that has the "sport suspension" package. What is the benefit of using the 350z springs that most seem to be using versus say an aftermarket spring from Eibach? Or is there none? I just ordered some wheels that will be in at the end of the week. I'm putting 19's on front and back and know that it's more than likely to have some silly gap in the wheel well that I am going to want to close. After reading and looking at pics it looks like a 1 inch drop is sufficient to close the gap. I just want to go the proper way to lower the car to ensure that it doesn't bounce or ride like crap and cause premature wear to the shocks and tires.

If I was to go with the 350z springs it sounds like I would need the 03/04 unrevised springs to use with my existing shocks. Would the ride be the same as I have now? What would be the best setup or best way to achieve my goal here?

Any good feedback is appreciated.

Thanks.

if you're just getting springs and no shocks i'd get the 04+ revised 350Z springs. they have a higher spring rate and lower the car all around an inch. I just got some 05 350Z springs for my car that i'll be putting on wednesday. the eibach would drop the car too much and cause premature wear of the stock shocks. If you were goin to get the eibach+ tokico d-specs, that would be a pretty good combo.

I would get a shock/spring package, springs alone will cause your shocks to wear out a lot faster.

I put the Nismo Type S Kit on my sedan and it works awesome... But it's also pricey.

There was a guy on here that has an 05 and he dropped his car on Espiler springs i think 1.5" drop on the stock sport tokico's and said his ride quality all of the sudden went to hell after 3 months... so i'm geussing the stock shocks wont last very long at all with a 2" drop.

I'm open to getting springs and shocks if that's the right way to go. What's a good price on the Tokico D specs? How much is pricey on the Nismo kit? If just putting in springs is going to cause wear of the shocks I don't want to go down that road. Been there and done that on my 97 Accord sedan with 18's that I had put Ground Control coilovers with the stock struts. That lasted two days before I bottomed out the shocks and bought Tokico's and then basicly duplicated the work again on the car.

So 350z springs lower the car an inch, what could I expect from Eibach Pros? 1.25"? What about Teins? I'm not too familiar with those.

Ya if your going to pay someone to do the work, its cheaper to have them do the shocks/springs at the same time then to have to come back later and pay them yet again to put new shocks on.

So are you saying that you could run the 350 revised springs with my stock shocks and have no premature wear? That other thread I saw on here said that my spring rate should be 314/342 in which this case you get the unrevised springs as the revised have a 400 something spring rate which would be too much for the "stock sport suspension" shocks.

Thanks.

You can get the tokico d-spec's and Tein H-tech (sedan) springs for $685 from everythingg35. the tein h-techs for the sedan lower it 1.3 in front and .7 in the rear.if you get the 350Z H-techs it doesnt even lower it an inch. personally i'm installing the 05 350Z springs on wed. and then getting the d-specs in a month or two.

What's included in this suspension? I assume this price was installed, right? Also what is the benefit of this suspension vs. an aftermarket setup?

I'm not saying that it wouldnt cause premature wear but i doubt it would be as fast as any aftermarket springs. I'm getting the d-specs in a month or so, so i dont think that would be long enough for the stock sport shocks to blow out.
