Stay away from Herb's

Man, I must be crazy actually expecting to get what I pay for. Just went to pick my ride up at Herb's Paint and Body in Frisco. Just had the door trim and handles painted to match my black sedan. It had flaws all over it. Just things that needed to be wet sanded out, but why would they call and say your car is ready, without any checking over my vehicle first. They should never let someone come to pick up a vehicle that wasn't done right. I know I'm ranting, but come on. How hard is it. Does no one take pride in their work any more. I know I'm ****, but these were things that were very noticable and any "good" paint shop should have never let the car leave like that. I guess too many people today just take it and never say a word about it. I'm not a complainer, but just want what I pay for, nothing more. Ok, I'm done..... I feel better now

What did it cost? I need a passenger side mirror. If I find one, I'll have to get it painted. Was thinking of getting my lowers painted to match as well. I have a 03 sedan (silver)

they charged $500 to do the handles and all the chrome around the windows. They said the chrome around the windows could not be taken off and had to be painted on the car. They've done work on my old Colorado, and my wifes Lexus and did a great job. However, I'm not too pleased right now with them.

For stuff like this always make sure you are dealing with a paint shop that regularly does "custom work". you don't want to take something like this to a shop that really only does insurance ****.
Not saying you didnt do this I am not familiar with that shop.

$500 sounds pretty steep though.

Man, that sucks. I hope you get it taken care of. Maybe we can get together and go for a cruise, you with your crappy paint job and me with my banging exhaust (hopefully mine's fixed but I'm not holding my breath).

I feel for you. Crap like this takes all the fun out of it.

Yea, nothing like a crappy paint job to say im poor white trash. I should of just got some Rustoleum and did it myself. Actually, I just picked it up and it looks a lot better. I haven't gone over it with a fine tooth comb yet, but at quick look, it looks as though they fixed what I told them to. Bigsash, you're right about the "custom work" type of shop. I should of done a little more homework. However, like I said, they've done other work for me and it's been fine. This didn't really seem like that hard of a job. Live and learn. Jameyb, let me know on the cruise. My springs should be coming in any day so we can still meet at Matchless when they do.
