twin turbo the g or turbo 240?

Well...I got some tax money and pulled out some money out of the house. I have about $8k left to do whatever I want with it. I was debating in either getting a tt setup on the sedan or just get me a 240 with a turbo setup or maybe something equal to that. Just dont know what route to take. You guys have any ideas? Thanks!!

If it was me...I would turbo the G because
1) you could buy the 240 and turbo but you would need to pay insurance which equals more money
2) after you turbo the 240, you're going to want to mod it more so now you'll have money going TWO ways both g and the 240 so it's more money you will probably spend

stick with one because it will be less strain on your wallet

you could turbo the sedan but it's going to cost you more than $8K to make it reliable and safe. ei: gauges, EMS, tune, install... etc. you could put the money away and wait til you get about $12K so you can do it all to the G at once. the turbo, install and tune alone will run you a little over $8K

Depends on whether you're gonna turbo the stock KA24DE or if you're swapping a SR20DET. IMO, the KA24 is a waste of money and time to boost...

If you going to do something with a 240 i would go with an RB25DETT, You'd be out. Not sure of the price's i think the engines are around 5 grand

go with the 240 dump an sr20 and just keep the G for weekends . you can get a decent 240sx for like 1k and 7k is more than enough for sr20, install, tune and a bunch of goodies for it.

Isnt it cheaper to get an older stang and drop a vortech, gears, shifter, pulleys, chip, exhaust etc and be in the low 12s in the quarter?
Parts/Labor is cheaper, parts are all over the place, damnn hold on--just pulled 3.73 rear gears out of my couch. See. go stang. Keep G for primary car.

Do you want a light, great handling car?

or

A heavy, good handling car, with more torque?

I'd build up a 240.

For day to day fun on the street, save up a little more and turbo the G.

For track use and such, no doubt the 240 is the better choice.

Also, your money will go farther on the 240. And the litle 2.4L has shown itself to be able to dandle decent boost, so no engine swap would be necessary for decent power gains.

Sounds like you've owned neither.

The KA responds remarkably well to boost. $2500 puts me in the 13's, and if I pop a motor, a replacement can be had for $100.

I'm not *the* expert, but I do own 240sx.org, which is the definitive resource for 240 owners (and has been for 8 years).

KA-T ftw, there are many in Houston putting up big numbers and are reliable. I used to own 3 240sx before I had my s2000/g35. IMHO you'll be faster and have a lot more fun in the FI 240 may it be KA-T or SR20DET or even RB series lol, and you would still have you're daily sedan. Win-Win situation.
