Bridgestone Turanza LSV's 225-55/17.

Very nice tire and a great price.

235 is popular becuase it is wider, and it is closest in diameter to the original size.

Diameter
215 0.55 118.25
225 0.55 13.75
235 0.5 117.5

Factory Eagle RSAs. 8000+ miles and no complaints. A little noisy maybe. Too easy to break loose..

Highly recommended. Good bang for the buck tire.
I bought these and I think they're the best tires I've ever had. Super sticky, really stiff sidewalls and great wet weather performance. Better than the pilot sports (too noisy, fast wear) conti extreme, Avons. I never had firestone before but after reading the high reviews on tirerack from musclecar owners I thought I 'd give them a shot. Best money I've ever spent on tires-

235/50/17's are an almost identical match for the stock 215/55/17's. I'd also check each tires revolutions per mile. I believe each tire's revs are slightly different per manufacturer. The Gy rsa's are at 795 revs/mi. Hope this helps.

Yeah I'm not knocking the tires at all. They're good for day-to-day use... I guess what I was trying to say but didn't is... I'm not sure how they'd do at the track, for instance.

But yeah, VERY solid tires for the money. I'm just not as 'overwhelmingly impressed' with them as I was with the F1's. Going from a turanza to a wide oval I'd have been blown away. Going from F1's to the wide ovals is a big stepdown. But again, I'm NOT knocking these tires. They're very good.

I have aftermarket wheels with Bridgestone S-03's so that's what I normally roll with. I didn't want to put all those miles on the S-03's so I threw the Wide Ovals on my stock wheels and use them when the 19's are off. I had the Goodyears on my 17's and I think the Wide Ovals are very comparable.

What's so bad about the Avons? I just put some M550's this past winter, and they are hands down better than the stock Turanza's. I've only heard good things about the Avon M550's.

Same here, although I have no experience with them.

He is probably referring to the balancing issues some have had with these tires. I don't know if that is a size thing (most of us have 235/50/17 it seems) or just this tire. I don't think it is just size. I have not had this issue, but I have heard others mention it, some even returned the tires and put different ones on because of it. Might relate to how much highway/high speed driving you do, and how sensitive you are to things like steering wheel vibration at higher speeds.

I love the tires.

I bought the all seasons for my stock 18" wheels (I know, we're talking 17" here, but I think it still applies) because the Pilots were getting really noisy (and bald). They definitely quiet the noise down, but they had really soft sidewalls, not confidence inspiring in hard turns, and they felt really dead - like they isolated you from the road too much. this would be a good tire if you wanted a more luxury feel to the car with very little road noise imo...

Yokohama YK520 all-season tires, v-rated, 215/55/17. Good tires for the price.
