Driver front suspension noise?

05x < 6500 miles.

Ever since I got the car it sounds like the front driver's side suspension has a soft thunking noise when going over bumps. I chalked it up to the entire suspension just being relatively stiff on this chassis/sporty sedan platform and for the most part still think that. I was going to wait till I took the car in for other work and see if the loaner makes the same noise but decided I might as well ask prior to going in if anybody else has this.

I know, I know... very difficult to say since one person's idea of noise/thunking differs from another.

Thanks.
Nate

Many posts on this; see suspesnion creaking noises; seems to me bushings design issue. no one has come with lasting fix; some owners have had their comperssion rods chnge but noise creeps back again; mine started doing it at less than 5K mikes.

I did see lots of posts on creaks but this noise is more of a light knocking sound though as opposed to a creak. Just wondering if I am describing the same thing??

Thanks.

The "creaking" sound made by the compression rod bushings can also sound like a "crunch" or a light "thunk". Use sound adjectives at your own risk.

Mine 'CRONKS' but does it consistently and works just fine. More in the cold weather than now in the spring.

Rather than let the dealer start playing fvck fvck with my car, I chalk it up to DGAF.

Sounds like my car does the same thing. I did not know it was out of the ordinary. I assumed it was a "sport" suspension stiffness thing.

Ok, so what is "DGAF?" I thought I had picked up on all of the acronyms on the board.

I had the same symptoms in my car...I too thought it was the compression rods, brought the car into the dealer, they replaced the rods...but that didn't fix it. I too had a knocking noise...but it was most evident when driving down the road to get to my street...it's very uneven and I drive pretty slow due to this....it would ALWAYS clunk on the drivers side front & was very annoying. Anyways, I brought my car back telling them it wasn't the rods, so I took my car for a ride w/ the tech to show him what I was talking about....he said it definitely wasn't normal & they fixed it. I don't remember the EXACT part name, but I think it was a suspension arm or control arm or something like that. Problem solved. Hopefully the fix is as easy for you.

Is DGAF - Don't Give A F!&K ?

Question I just went in for the same thing...this is what they said.

I went in yesterday for an oil change and mentioned that there was a "creaking" noise coming from the front driver's side. They ordered new bushings which should be in next week. I will see if it fixes the sound, but they said it was common and they weren't surprised to hear of the problem.

I have a 5AT 2003.0 sedan.

Anyone know how much this would cost if the car were out of warranty, mine is going to come out of warranty in sept of this year?
