Dave I get the drone too. It's why they put the suitcase on there in the first place I am sure. I simply shift down to a gear that puts me at > 2200 or so rpms. Running around town holding gears is the best way for me to avoid it. I noticed it from the back the other day when my wife was driving and I think it's VERY loud back there. This in one of my reasons for putting in 24 feet of B-Quiet Ultimate in the trunk and back seat. It's still bad even after the soundproofing. My wife refuses to "learn" how to drive manumatic. But she won't be driving the G anymore. Imagine if a clutch were involved...

To help get those stubborn bolts turning get a portable propane or mapgas torch. It can really help in a bind. And they have gotten pretty cheap.

I doubt that will do anything...it's drone from exhaust resonating...not the actual pipe vibrating.

You're probably right. Now that I think about it, it will probably cause clearance issues with the driveshaft heatshield because the clamp will lift the pipe upwards. I actually like the sound and vibration very reasonable (hardly anything), but I worry about my 18 month old son having to sit back there.

Does anyone know if the 05+ sedan midpipe is a direct bolt-on to an 03? The reason I ask is because I believe 05+ muffler is either shorter/longer than the 03/04 muffler. I don't want to get the midpipe and find out it doesn't work. I might have to PM Trey/Cheryl to confirm this.

It is a direct fit. My old midpipe is on Cheryl's car now. The mufflers are different dimesions, like you say, but if mainly affects how the muffler fits behind the rear valance more than anything.

Drop it into Manumatic mode during those instances & it'll go away. My 2.5 yr. old hasn't complained about my coupe middy & HKS muffler yet .

With the replaced resonator on mine there's no extra vibration, just the nice drone at about 1500-2000rpm. I don't think you ever got to ride in mine before you left to compare.
