why can't i beat my friend's '06 330i?

hey guys,
Im new to this forum and i usually never go on message boards but
maybe you guys can give me some advice on what im doing wrong here.
My good friend just got the new 330i (automatic) and i have a 2005
silver G35( which i love btw ). It has the automatic transmission also.
A few weeks ago he started challenging me and claimed he could take me
off the line and anywhere else on the powerband. I was very skeptical b/c
#1-i love my G and have beaten cars i should not of been beating(esp. the previous 330i) and #2-i figured 255hp vs 280, shouldnt be too difficult. ANyway so we decided to race and he beats me every time. I try power braking, manumatic, trac. control off, everything. I did beat him one time but he claimed he spun the tires. I also have a problem controlling wheel spin. But even from 60-100 he walks away. And its not just me we've switched cars and i beat him when i drive his 330i. Thats the absolute worst feeling!
I didnt think you guys would believe me so i made some video clips quickly the other night. The clips arent that good quality cause it was night time and we didnt have a 3rd person to film. I came to the conclusion that the 3 is just extremely aggressively geared or just plain underrated. btw i drove it-incredible car to drive, but overall G is about 85% as good driving was and much more comfortable and an AMAZING value and better overall package. Either way i dont care cause he paid $42k for his and i paid $35k

anyway he put them up on videos.streetfire.net
just go there and type in 330i in the search box

they should be at the bottom. Only the part one is really watchable which was our best run for me, no wheel spin at all. But around 45 he pulled away.
part 2 didnt count- i spun out the tires, so didnt count.
the rest are just bad quality so sorry dont even bother watching... we'll make more when we have a 3rd person and its daylight.

that was my next question actually...yes my car is absolutely stock(so was his i'm pretty sure)...what can i get for $2k or less that will increase hp + performance? I think spending more than that would prob not be worth it for me b/c i bought this car b/c it was the best overall value and im not really performance orientated, will occassionaly race to 60 now and then...just never actually really lost before...lol im one of those respectful drivers, if i see an M3, sti, evo etc. or something like that i tend not to challenge it. But 330i seemed doable. haha you know i love beating-A4's

your not gonna get much for 2k... exspensive car requires exspensive parts but ya.. mrev is a good idea, intake, exhaust headers etc... just the basic bolt on's but you cant get it all for 2k

how fast to u guys take it up to? How many car lengths is he beating u by?
The only explanation would be his extra gear which gives his car the advantage due to more aggressive gearing.

We usually only take it up to about 75-80ish cause the roads are public and too dangerous and he is usually ahead by 1.5 car lengths. We did one 60-100 on the highway. And he started pulling away immediately.

He claims it is listed at 6.3 and bmw lists conservative times so its really around 6. What is the G35 auto listed at ? Around 6.0-6.2 right? How do you guys optimally launch your cars? 1.5 car lengths can be negligble and launch dependant but ive tried doing every possible launch.

that is very strange.
BMW becomes a different animal after 10,000 miles.

if he is auto, and if we'r only looking at 0-60 times, you should win every time. unless your auto shifts slow....
