It was yesterday night when my eyes came across a lowered IS300 slowly approaching me in the adjacent lane. I was minding my own business and he just sped past me...all I could hear was the loud noise coming from his engine/exhaust.

We both came to a red light...he was in the left lane and I was in the right lane . There was no other car or person in sight. He reved and I told him it was on.

Light turned green and we launched, I pulled away from him with ease in manumatic mode. While I was pulling away from him, I heard his engine rev very loud and than it made a "pzzt" sound .....it did this twice. I started pulling 3+ cars away from him and than I overtook his lane because there was someone else in my lane up ahead...I finally realized I was approaching 65+ mph on a 40 mph road...I slowed down and than I flashed my hazards.

After I slowed down he started tail-gating me....he was pissed. He ended up going past me after I had slowed down. I have no idea what he did to his car, but it really sounded pumped up.

Any idea what this "pzzzt" sound was? Turbo? NOS?

 

Usually that noise means a turbo and that sound is from the blow off valve. But then again if you beat him, it could have been a Poser with one of those electric imitators or his 'system' sucked.[img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

 

Has anyone seen the video of the Trans-Am looking car racing the modded moped? If so, what the hell is that smoke/steam that the guy in the Trans-Am blows out of the vents on his hood prior to launch? It looks cool as hell.

<hr></blockquote>He's purging his NOS system. You're supposed to do it to make sure there is no air in your nitrous supply lines before it gets to the motor, but guys do it to "look cool as hell" and to intimidate the guy he's racing...

It was a turbo IS300 or what was said above with the poser blow-off valves. Everytime I hear that noise, I wet my pants. Haha!! DAMN YOU PEOPLE WITH TURBO's, SO JEALOUS!

I never said it was a turbo. I placed a question on this forum asking people what that weird "pzzzt" sound was when I spanked the IS300. I than asked for feedback..I asked could it be a turbo? did he use NOS? Try reading the first post before replying.

 

It could be a badly installed turbo... G35's are a lot faster than IS300's to begin with ... I wonder if a G35 with a blower could beat an IS300 with a turbo?

two things the frist one is the pzszzzt noise could have been a fake blow off valve i saw people talking about it on some maxima forum. Its just a load speacker and when ever u [censored] it makes a pzzzzt noise.
The second thing i wanted to saw was the is3000 is super slow and even with a turbo unless running a good amount of boost the G still have a chance. And whats not to say he is a shity driver or missed a shift.

 

Has anyone taken on a M3? If Lancer Evo and Subaru STI can do it, so can G35, I assume. With a turbo kit, I am sure ours Gs would be much faster than its overrated european rivals. Has anyone had any perfomance parts on their sedan? Does anyone have any aftermarket exhaust on thier sadens? What makes?

 

Your kidding right... first of all there is no turbo kit for the G and I don't think a Evo or an STI would stand a chance against an M3... and rightly so seeing how it's a 50+K car

You know what might do in an M3 and is in the 30K price range? How about a Mustang Cobra

too bad.............I thought there would be a twin turbo kit for G35 as they have it for 350Z, if I was not mistaken.

M3 is undenialbly a good car; however, it's not a great car like a porche Carrera or skyline GTR so to speak. This is how some of us here are misled by German Automakers' advertising Campaign. The truth is that a M3 is no faster than an EVO or a STI. This is where BMW gets to spend a lot of money each year to feed the American auto journalists so they will not do a comparos between M3, EVO, and STI. You might argue that M3 has a higher price here and it is not a valid to compare apple to orange. But in Europe, they should be about the same price and both are as hot of a commodity as a M3. With their rally pedgree, it's easy for EVO and STI to take on the over priced German sports sedans like M3 or C32. So don't think of youself any less than a M3 when it pulls up next to you.
