Not exactly comprehensive with every year model. But gives a good idea if we can believe these to be official times

I think it's somewhat funny that people are concerned with the 1/4 mile times of these cars anyway. They're great cars to drive, but are more grand touring than extreme performance vehicle. By the time you got the car light enough and with sufficient power to really move out, you'd ruin it as far as comfort goes.
Perhaps I'm just old now, but I have the G35X for a comfortable daily. If I want to go fast, I have a car made to go fast.

I'm from the former camp. The G is a whole second faster than my old car to 60, and over a second faster in the quarter, despite being heavier and having more creature comforts.
More expensive vehicles that weight, cost and run even faster can be had and still be in the "Touring" segment.

Point taken. But in all seriousness, i think it's all relative. You have the benefit of having a second (faster) vehicle. For a lot of folks, the G would be a step up from their previous vehicles. Or, for some, had faster cars but would like to "downgrade" but still know the car won't be a dog to drive.

My point was more that nitpicking the 1/4 mile results is silly on a car that is not really intended for that purpose and will never be very effective at that purpose without major work (which will pretty negatively impact the car from a drivability/comfort standpoint).
A lot of my opinion on this is based around a car I used to own, a Grand Prix GTP. It was a nice comfy car to drive, until I did a built engine, built transmission, etc. to make it quicker. Then it sucked to drive (was loud, poor fuel mileage, rough shifts, less comfortable suspension) and it was still a high 11 second 1/4 mile car. I took away the enjoyable to drive "quick" car, and made a car that was less enjoyable to drive and still not particularly fast. I also spent more building it than I did my first V8 RX7, which handed the GTP it's *** very, very badly.
That's all the point I was making. I'm old and jaded, haha.

I told myself to leave the G untouched a few years ago, little good that did me. Now i have nearly sworn to leave the next car alone... let's see how that pans out.
