07 Sedan stock 13 second 1/4 mile?

What do you guys think? The IS350 does high 13's stock, will the 07 G35 be able to match it? What is the redline on the IS350? G35 is at a disadvantage with the 5 speed vs 6 speed auto of the IS350.

High 13's should be no problem.

Don't current G35's run high 13.9x on good days with good drivers?

Not the sedans for sure, even the coupes have a hard time to run 13.9. On the coldest night, a 6 speed 05-06 Sedan might sneak a 13.9 but highly unlikely.

The G35 is a performance based sports sedan, why can't you speculate on the performance of the newest model? People are speculating if the new sound system is up to par, etc...

His point is that you obviously don't know anything about sedans. There are plenty of low 14 second, high 13 second sedans. A few were stock, the rest with just a few mods.

I pulled a 13.7 with a k&n and crawford cats. Check out guys like Bobby D, Bossho, and OneFast4DoorG35.

I'll take a stab and say that the 6 speed will trap at about 104. Just a guess. Depending on launch, that could be good for a 13.8 to a 13.4.

Maybe I should clarify, there is no way a stock 6speed 03-06 Sedan is getting into the 13's at the tracks I go to, one of them being the fastest on the west coast, Sacramento Raceway. The fastest G35 I have seen out there was an 05 6 speed coupe with plenum, cold air intake and exhaust, it ran a 13.8 at 102mph. Stock auto G35 sedans run high 14's. I have over 200 track passes in various vehicles over the years and the best I can do with my stock 05 G35 sedan auto is 14.6 at 96.5mph with a 2.2 60 foot time. On the same night there was an 04 Sedan auto and his best was a 14.8 at 94mph. I've only had 6 runs total but it won't do much better than that for sure unless the engine has gotten more broken in since then. On the otherhand, I've seen a completely stock IS350 run a 13.8 at 100mph with nothing done to it at all. Those cars are really fast and I don't think their motor is superior to the 07 G35 however they come stock with close ratio 6 speed auto and 4.10 gears which gives them a huge advantage.

Just keep in mind that what you see at your track isn't representative of other tracks across the nation. If I based everything I saw at my track then stock C5 Z06s and Vipers would run lower 13s, LS1 F-bodies would run mid 13s, 350Zs would run low to mid 14s, 05+ Mustang GTs would run lower 14s, etc. I know for a fact that these times are slower than some tracks because of conditions (altitude of my track, ambient air) and driver skill.

My 03 5AT sedan did higher 14.4s with a Z-pipe (0-hp mod) in 1,500' density altitude conditions and then lower 14.3s in near sea level DA conditions, same track. My trap speeds range from mid 97s to lower 98s. My friend, who weighs over 100lbs more than me and has a stereo in his 03 5AT sedan sees lower 14.5s@97mph. My point is making a blanket statement like "stock autos run high 14s" and "stock 6MTs can't run 13s" is clearly wrong, IMO. A lot of it comes down to driver skill and contrary to popular belief, the 5AT does take a little know-how to get it to perform it's best. Letting it do it's own thing will make you run high 14s.

As for the 07 G35, I firmly believe the 07 5AT sedan will run 13s stock. At least with me behind the wheel If I can get 14.3s in a stock "260hp" 5AT, then I surely can shed .4 seconds with a car that weighs basically the same and has a much broader powerband and 45 more hp to work with. The 6MT should easily be a solid 13.7@103mph+ car.

LOL, I wont believe any of that until I see it. A lot of big talk going on in here with the sedans but I have yet to see a stock one do anything to impress me. Keep up the wishful thinking though guys, Christmas is just around the corner....

So are you claiming bs on our guesses, or on what some of us have claimed to have done?

He must be one of those who thinks that the coupe is faster than a sedan
(stock for stock; AT vs. AT; MT vs MT of course)
He shows pure ignorance lol
