That means that with a redline of 7500, a sports model equipped with 245/45/18's will have the following top speeds:
Gear - 5AT - 6MT
1 - 42 - 42.5
2 - 68.5 - 69.4
3 - 105.5 - 99.3
4 - 161.3 - 126.9
5 - 192.2 - 161.3
6 - NA - 203.1
That means that both models will be geared to reach 190mph, and the 6mt will be geared to exceed 200mph. Interesting.
I found it interesting also with the gear changes on the 07 models.Originally Posted by trey.hutcheson
Good info to have. So both models now share the same final drive? I find that interesting. I also find it interesting that the final drive is even shorter. That will help acceleration. On all the 07 sedans, the X, the RWD and the 6MT, the rear diff is the same ratio 3.692:1 which should give a bit of a boost to compensate for the extra weight
The ratios in the 6MT remains the same as the older G35"s. This might give an edge to the autos.
Here are the comparisons between the 05 and the 07:
05 A/T --------------07 RWD, AWD A/T
1st
3.540 :1 -------------3.841:1
2nd
2.264:1 --------------2.352:1
3rd
1.471:1 --------------1.529:1
4th
1.000:1 --------------1.000:1
5th
0.834:1---------------0.839:1
Reverse
2.370:1---------------2.764:1
Final drive ratio
3.357:1 for the A/T RWD ----------------- 3.69:1 for all 07 models
3.538:1 for the 05 AWD and the 6MT
The standard transmission gearing in the 07 remains the same as the older G35 M/T cars

I think it looks much better in these pics then it does in the others. If you look at the manual transmission car, the dashboard stops higher up and rounds off instead of continuing to where the gearshift lever is. I guess its for easier shifting, but I dont like the look of it .
WoW, if they put the other bumper on the RED one..... very tempted to trade in my IP. The RED is beautiful.

Is it me or does the lighter blue one (I guess lakeshore blue) look like it has smaller wheels than the rest of them?
Otherwise, those pics completley just sold me, I want one! LOL

I like that front end shot also. This must be the standard front end since this is the car with 17" wheels on it.Originally Posted by luxman
This is my favorite shot that shows the new lines on hood and around the front wheel panels, very sexy and muscular. It also shows the new integrated fog lights on the inside of new headlight. I prefer bottom separate fog lights but no big deal.

But it's not uncommon for them to mix & match preproduction bits & pieces to keep everyone guessing.
To me it looks like it should be the sport bumper though

....all it needs is a lip
