Yes there are additional benefits: 25/75 split in high-speed turns and the same upon initial lunch, but again there is the weight penalty, and the X does push more than a non-X.
At least there is a choice.

If your not driving in the snow all that much but at exposed to it as in my case, I'd recommend forgoing the X and instead get the RWD and purchase a great set of performance snow tires. I was amazed on how a performance RWD can behave in the snow w/good snow tires.

Just to clarify here, the G35x weighs a little less than 200lbs more than an Automatic RWD G35 sedan and about 135lbs more than a 6-speed.
During normal operation, the car is 100% RWD- From a rest, the car has a 25/75 split. Then at about 19mph reverts to RWD unless slip is detected.
The G35x utilizes the FX front end. You'll find that steering effort is slightly higher than in RWD Gs and that there is not as much feel. Fuel mileage is similar. The G35x uses a shorter gear ratio to help optimize acceleration. Thus, freeway engine speeds are unfortunatly a bit higher.
If you live in the snow, the car will perform very well. However, you don't get the 6-speed option. If you don't care about the 6-speed, live in the snow, I think it's really worth considering. I on the other hand want to trade my car for a new 6-speed when available.

If it doesnt have tiptronic then most likely its snow tires for me and a year later to probably get the 07 sports version. Which would mean I will need to white knuckle while driving in snow. I just love my current G now, but I hate when I see 05 models with the nicer looking rear lights. I usually remind myself that the spoiler is still the look heh. How is the acceleration in highway? Do you feel solid response?
