If the price wasn't so much higher in Canada, I would buy an Infiniti this way. However, I'm going to import from Michigan.

Another note on VPP - a dealer does NOT have to accept it - it's up to the dealer.
Austin Infiniti wouldn't take my VPP coupon on a 2005 6MT sedan last Feb... so I shopped around in Houston and Dallas.
Also, you'll notive VPP pricing on Nissans is lower than in Infiniti, so it goes below invoice.

i have no reason to believe the G35 will be any different

I wonder if dealerships can override the corporate statement...

I spoke with a sales guy on Monday, and he explained that there are four tiers to the VPP program. Obviously, they're in Tier A (he claims that not everyone who works at the dealership qualify for Tier A... made no sense), while business associates like myself would be Tier B. Then what's Tiers C and D? I googled this, and someone on some board got his Infiniti car on "plan D."

Fleet managers took over Internet sales as the internet grew. Fleet managers are paid on volumes. The simple answer as to why is because most people just don't know. It's so easy over the phone to get a couple fleet managers going against each other. In less than an hour, with just a couple phone calls, you'll have the best deal.
You then make your appointment to just go in and pick it up. They will have it washed and waiting, ready for delivery. The paperwork and everything takes less than 45 minutes at the dealer when you do it this way.
