VPP does exist in Canada. My sister-in-law works for Johnson Controls (parts supplier to Nissan/Infiniti) and I inquired at the local Canadian Infiniti dealership. No problem.

If the price wasn't so much higher in Canada, I would buy an Infiniti this way. However, I'm going to import from Michigan.

Another note on VPP - a dealer does NOT have to accept it - it's up to the dealer.

Austin Infiniti wouldn't take my VPP coupon on a 2005 6MT sedan last Feb... so I shopped around in Houston and Dallas.

Also, you'll notive VPP pricing on Nissans is lower than in Infiniti, so it goes below invoice.

for those who are wondering about VPP on "ALL-NEW" or redesigned vehicles

in Nov 2002, we bought our 2003 350Z with VPP . we all know how the demand was when the Z came out in its first year.

i have no reason to believe the G35 will be any different

I think it's Infiniti Corporate that is saying no for now.

THE 2007 INFINITI G35 IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE THROUGH THE VPP PROGRAM AT THIS TIME.
I wonder if dealerships can override the corporate statement...

when the 2006 G35 Coupes came out VPP was not available until 4 months into the new Model Year -- the 2006 M-series was 6 month's time before VPP was valid. I'm expecting the 2007 G35 sedan to be about 4-6 months before VPP will show up

I spoke with a sales guy on Monday, and he explained that there are four tiers to the VPP program. Obviously, they're in Tier A (he claims that not everyone who works at the dealership qualify for Tier A... made no sense), while business associates like myself would be Tier B. Then what's Tiers C and D? I googled this, and someone on some board got his Infiniti car on "plan D."

While this helps on a brand new vehicle, since they don't negotiate as much, doesn't everyone here pretty much pay invoice or under for their cars anyway? It's not hard, just go straight to the fleet manager.

That's one thing I don't get. Why doesn't everyone just go to the Internet salesperson or the fleet manager if they're always cheaper? And what is the different anyway between a fleet manager and the sales guys? I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff.

Fleet managers took over Internet sales as the internet grew. Fleet managers are paid on volumes. The simple answer as to why is because most people just don't know. It's so easy over the phone to get a couple fleet managers going against each other. In less than an hour, with just a couple phone calls, you'll have the best deal.

You then make your appointment to just go in and pick it up. They will have it washed and waiting, ready for delivery. The paperwork and everything takes less than 45 minutes at the dealer when you do it this way.

This boggles me... The fleet managers are AT the dealership? I'm surprised anyone would even want to deal with the sales guys, then. Or at least, get your test drive, then go home and call the fleet manager. Am I missing something here?
