C&D Test of the '07 BMW 335i
While I'm still not a fan of the interior, this car is that good:

The 335i Sedan is about 50 lbs. heavier than the Coupe so i doubt it's faster, but it may be just as fast or a 1/10th sec. or two slower. Maybe just the diff. between 2 cars that C&D tested, outside temperature, elevation, etc. Either way, this new 3.0L twin turbo engine in either car will be super fast. It does appear that BMW underrated it quite a bit. Independent testing shows it anywhere from 315-350HP with similar Torque! Many believe that BMW will increase the 335i's HP and TQ numbers for '08 and '09 without changing a thing, just their literature.

However, what's going to sell is the 328i, not the 335i. 335i sales will only be a fraction of G35 sales.

It's like the Lexus IS250/350...for an extra $5k, which one would you rather have? Many ppl have suggested that Infiniti do this with a "G25." Of course, there will be those ppl who don't feel they need to go 0-60 in 4.9 sec., and just want to drive a BMW no matter how fast or slow. So, they'll opt for the car with the less powerful engine, but with all the same looks and stuff. Personally, I would only go for the top tier car (with the better engine), but that's just me.
Just in case you didn't know...
After my test drive of the '07 BMW 335i Coupe, I placed my order for an '07 loaded BMW 335i Coupe w/ Auto/Step, Prem, Sport, Paddle Shifters, Navi, Confort Access, Active Cruise Control, & Sat Radio. I currently drive a loaded '03 Infiniti FX35 (and I was a former '04.5 G35 driver), and I will be fully comparing the 335i (when it arrives in Nov.) to an '07 Infiniti G35 Sedan, provided Infiniti gets them to the dealer in time.

I don't know about BMW 335 vs next G35 comparison because they seem to be completely different price range now. All I can say is as far as prestige/performance/values goes, I think BMW just b|tch slapped Lexus IS350 with a fierce backhand. This is all a deja vu for Lexus managers, for the second time, BMW royally screwed over Lexus with 2nd year new model engine upgrade.
Can Infiniti successfully deal with the new turbo inline 6? We won't know until the VQ37HR arrives next fall with 370Z and G37 Coupe.
