XM Radio Without Premium Audio?

I plan to buy a G35x. Can anyone tell me if XM radio is available without the studio on wheels audio? I don't see it listed as an individual option on the spec sheet. Thanks in advance.

If you get a stock G35x AWD ( i.e. no Premium Package ), then yes you can get XM Satellite Radio w/o the Infiniti Studio on Wheels by Bose premium audio system. ( http://www.infiniti.com/allnewG/2007...ifications.pdf )

A salesguy told me last Friday that if you get XM (or Sirius) as a separate option, it's dealer-installed and entails a black "hockey-puck" antenna instead of the fin-type-thingie that comes with the "package" factory installation.

With the premium package and the Bose stereo, is XM or Sirius part of this or do you have to have the Nav Package? Or do you have it added as a dealer install and then have the black hockey puck antenea as opposed to the shark fin?

If you get the Premium Package w/o the Navigation Package you can get XM or Sirius Satellite Radio as a dealer-installed option. If you get the Premium Package and the Navigation Package then you get XM Satellite Radio factory-installed.

OK, that's what I was figuring. That sucks! Will it still be completely integrated with the stereo?

Yes, at least on the "package" install. Nissаn has activated the XM service on the "sample" cаrs they recently distributed to their dealershіps. I got to play with the XM on my recent tеst drivе and it is fully integrated with the audio system; you can even mix XM channels and FM/AM stations in your presets.

Now that's cool...I hate switching sources for my presets...

Wow, mixing the pre-sets. That's a fantastic idea! Can't wait to have that feature. And this works even without the Nav, with XM added?

I should have qualified my previous post about mixing the presets with "the salesguy said that ... in response to my question". All I saw on the display during the tеst drivе were XM channels, but then it was set to display all XM channels, not presets ... the saleguy scrolled through them with the controller ****, whatever it's called. There was such much to play with in the cаr (fully-loaded, like all the "Sample" cаrs) that I didn't get to personally confirm the mixing-presets issue.
