Talking My baby is home

My baby is finally home! It would have been sooner but I was traveling and just got home last night.

The G35S I bought was the dealers unveiling car so you could say I have one of the first Sports made.

It's Plat Graphite with a Graphite Interior and have the Prem, Tech and Nav as well as the 3M clear bra and splash guards when they come in.

My drive home was actually the first chance I had to drive one of these.

All I can say is "Oh My God!!" This car is nothing like my 2003.5.

I haven't push it yet but you can tell it is quick and shifts wonderfully. The ride is stiffer then the 03 but still rides very nice. Car feels a little lighter too.

I love the color combo and wheels.

Now the toys and all I can say here is "WOW!!" I spent 2 hours in the G just playing with stuff.

Blue Tooth - works great. I even bought a new cell phnoe a Razor since my old cell didn't have bluetooth. The phone interfaced without a problem and making and receiving calls is a piece of cake. So cool the radio shuts off and lets you talk.

Nav - again leaps above the old Nav. When you enter addresses in your address book you can assign different icons. For exaple for your house you can select a Heart. You can also assign a "sound" like a cat or dog, or a chime for when you reach your place. Also voice so you can just say the location.

Radio - Sounds great and ripping CDs to the disk drive is easy. Switching between songs using the disk drive is fast. But I also noticed that switching between CDs in the 6 disc cd player was also quick.

Seats - The sports seats are the best, you have to get these. It is so cool when you move your seat the mirrors and the steering wheel will resync with the new position. When you get out of the G the steering wheel evens moves up out of the way.

There are so many options and choices it's take a month to learn this car.
The owners manual is like 2" thick.

The trunk is smaller as I took my old trunk mat and try putting it in the new G trunk and the width alone is about 6" shorter. The depth is about 3".

The quality so far looks excellent. I did notice the doors don't "feel" as heavy as my '03 specially the rear doors.

I took a few pictures but I will get more.

Bang for the buck I see nothing that even comes close to this car.

Thanks!

By the way I also tested the laser cruise control in pretty heavy traffic. It actually worked pretty well. You felt a little surging once in awhile but otherwise it work as expected. What's neat is in the little red window it tells you what speed you have the cruise set for.

Speaking of the red window, it's great for all the info it can provide but not crazy about the color. Could do better here.

First thing my wife said. My G only had 16 miles on it and when I looked in the glove box there was a piece of paper that said it was a "Quality Inspection Certificate". From reading it I would assume only a few cars get this "testing" certificate. Notice the mileage says 5 miles.

congrats

i have had mine for a week now- also the dealers first car and identical to yours except for a Stone interior. Those graphite seats look great in your car tho. If you are like me, it will take you a few days to begin to expore the Nav- it is not only fun but damn near natural and useful when you finally figure it out

Eventually I found and took the the time to do the voice training tutorial and have stopped cursing at it- its not rewarding as it doesnt understand and just hits you back with a random State, street or tel no til you have to pull over to stop laughing.

Best, today with a few miles on, I found a back country road, dropped the windows and got on it some. There is another car in there with a new sound and more cornering and straightline performance than is obvious from a car so comfotable and refined in normal dirving.

almost forgot

Washed it too. Man this car is smmoooth ... not a panel feels like the old G. I think they copied the way a hand follows curves on a 911.

Unlike in pics, live the chrome lip works with Platinum Graphite perfectly - clearly the designers managed to take away the massiveness with all the detail in the rear-- a Bimmer design trick (like the side window treatment) but done even better.

This car is soooo much fun to get to know.

This isn't only for the Sport right? Do the Journey & X-AWD have these also?
