Cruise control and rain?

Cruise control and rain?
Couldn't get the active cruise contol to set a speed today. It was raining heavily, and I suspect the radar might have been bouncing back off teh rain. Wierd thing is that somehow the whole issue was also tied into th ewipers being used. The cruise control attempted to set a speed with the wipers off, but couldn't hold that speed. With the wipers on, there was no engagement at all.

Driving in the rain using cruise control isn't smart
even if the traffic is light. When your driving in the
rain you need to have total control of your vehicle.
Cruise control takes some of that control away
especially in heavy rain. Your lucky it wouldn't
activate.......your G knows best!!

^-1. I personally skip the manual, especially when I put furniture and Lego together. 
Last night, I was restless, so I started reading the my manual, and I had no idea just how technological COOL this car was! Sure, I'm new to the world of Infiniti, so there may be a lot of carryover from the previous models, but if I hadn't peeked inside that thick little book, I would never have discovered some of the goodies that no review will talk about. It'll be my winter reading for the next few weeks.

It's set up that if the sensor in front detects any rain, snow, fog, or dirt, it automatically cancels the system.
In the same way, if the wipers are being used in slow or fast modes, the ICC is cancelled.
It's quite a comprehensive system.
Check your owner's manual to confirm that the operation is the same as my M.

He's not being burned just for asking a question but yes, I take your point. If I had a new G35 I would be like a kid on Christmas morning, and I couldn't wait to try out all the new toys, and I imagine that he's the same. Ideally, people would read the manual before trying out a toy on the freeway in the rain, but in this case it looks like Nissаn protected people from their own over-eagerness.
