Poor Bluetooth Reception?

Question to anyone with a BT cell phone, specifically a T809 from T-Mobile / D820 from Samsung: have you had major static/dropped-data problems with your phone?

Mine pair just fine, and keep a link up, but the thing just eats itself when you make a call - major distortion and such. Basically stuff it shouldn't be doing.

Ideas?

I have a SE 810i (Cingular) and reception has been good so far. Voice clarity isn't perfect, but good enough to hold a decent conversation.

Can I just say that I absolutely love the BT capabilities in cars these days. I keep BT on my phone enabled all the time (but in powersaving mode) so everytime I get into my car it automatically pairs. Great feature.

Other than the whole "My BT stack has crapped out" part, I love the BT integration, I think it's lovely!

I just need a workaround to hear something other than "BUZZZZBUZZZ BUZUZZZ!" - ya know? : )

Have had no use problems with my Palm. On one occassion it had trouble pairing, but it may have been a low battery.

I have spotty luck dialing via Nav voice recognition and haven't figured out how to download entries so am getting the address book filled manually.

Chuck, it uses the Object Push / OBEX profile on your BT phone. You just send the entries you want from your phone (there will be some context menu which will have an option like "send via bluetooth" when you context-menu a contact).

If you have any questions, just email me and I'll walk you through it. It's under the Phone settings and the Address Book menu on your G's side of the affair.

I don't think that my phone's bluetooth is unlocked that way. Do you think it is possible to send my contacts from outlook on my notebook? That's how I sent them to my phone in the first place, using a DLink bluetooth adapter.

When I tried to download my phonebook from my RAZR phone it would give me a disconnect message every time so I had to enter them by hand.

Short version: lets you drive and talk on a compatible cell phone while keeping both hands on the whеel where they belong.

Bluetooth is simply a somewhat short range wireless technolgy that uses the 2.4Ghz spectrum for data transmission......similiar to that of a cordless phone. If you have a Bluetooth capable cellular phone, you can purchase a Bluetooth headset....which will allow you to talk on your cell phone with a headset without any wires. Same concept applies when talking on a Bluetooth capable phone in your G. I hope that helps.

Okay, so no dice on the BT issue just being range between signals. This is just bizarre.

I'm going to try some other phones in the coming days to see what the deal is.
