Front license plate - holes?

In Texas front and rear plates are required, and the dealer gave me the front frame etc. - but there's nowhere to mount it?? Do I seriously have to drill holes in the front bumper cover to mount this thing?!?

It should be the dealer that does that for you.

Sorry to say yes. In the manual are directions on how to do it. I haven't done it yet. I want to do something a little more custom so I don't have to drill any holes in the bumper.

I have the holes. The dealer actually installed these plastic things that allow the screws to screw on tight. I wasn't able to remove the plastic pieces with my fingernails alone. Once my dealer sends me the bottle of touch-up paint they promised me, I will submit a sample of my Blue Slate to bumperplugs.com, so I can cover them up.

Stillen makes a lisence plate where you dont have to drill holes... it goes into the area for the towing ring

I saw that, too. Maybe someone who has it can try it out on the new G.

Thanks for the idea! Just talked to them - they think it will fit. At a quick glance it appears the tow hook is the 22MM one, I'll confirm when I get to ordering one. ~$65 - not cheap, but better than holes.

I have the holes already, so I'll just leave the plate holder off and plug them up with bumperplugs.com plugs. Show us pics when you install yours!

I can't quite see how it attached to the car...like where is the tow hook for the 07s? Would you have to cut part of the grill or something?
