Top Speed is limited in 5AT!!!

Greetings to all of you first :-))
I just test my top speed on the 5AT S and it does not go more than 135mph??
I believe is limited and wonder if that can be disable cause on the 6MT is limited also to 158mph as CarAndDriver said.

I came from a 6MT Acura TSX and the top speed is limited to 145mph on that car.

I REALLY like this car.

Any comments??

Thanks to all

Ouch , how many miles you got on your new G. You are so lucky you have a track around that you can test that puppy out.

+1. I sure hope those speeds are kept on the track.

Do you have a Sport? Manufacturers typically limit the top speed to the limit of the OEM tires; the Sports come with W rated, which can handle the max speed (think they're 174+, or something insane like that), whereas the Journey, X etc. use V-rated tires (these are actually rated up to 149, so don't know why they would limit to "just" 135).

So the answer is likely that the Sports aren't speed limited, the other models are.

I don't know what year model you are referring to but my car went 150mph before the speed governor kicked in. Yes I do have a 5AT and it's a 04 model.

Just a hint, cause I do this all the time... but the thread is placed in the 2007 Sedan section. Hopefully that answers your question

That would be odd that the 07 would be limited lower than the 03-06. I had figured it would be at 149 again for the tires.

Thanks to all for your reply.

1. Yes is a G35S auto.
2. Test was done on the airport track with a lot of wind.
3. I promise to connect the GTechPro and test again.

I will likely to modify this car soon because it is on my roots!! jeje.

Thanks for your replies and hope we can change knowlegde on these.

THANKS

W rated tires - 270 km/h or 168 mph

"ZR" Rated Tires
When "ZR" appears in the size designation with the service description, the maximum speed is as indicated by the service description.

Tire Designation - Maximum Speed

P275/40ZR17 93W 270 km/h (168 mph)
P275/40ZR17 93Y 300 km/h (186 mph)

For tires having a maximum speed capability above 240 km/h (149 mph), a "ZR" may appear in the size designation. For tires having a maximum speed capability above 300 km/h (186 mph), a "ZR" must appear in the size designation.
