New G35S 6sp Owner

Lurker for the past 6weeks reading about the 07 G35S from all of the G35driver.com posters. The information gleaned here lead to the purchase of an 07 G35S 6sp, Ivory Pearl/Graphite, premium package sedan. Car had 14 miles on the initial test drive and looks great!

Background: I'm a Mustang guy at heart. The first being an 89LX and the last a modded 01 Cobra. My final list of "potential purchases" were the IS350 (high price & insurance), CTSV (fast but awful quality - rearend specific), SRT8 300 (fast with high wear/tear maintenance cost - still a Chrysler), C55 AMG (bottom falling out of low mile, used market) and the 07 G35.

I don't have a lot of seat time in the G thus far, but here we go:

Initial Observations: Shifter feels very solid, but has a lot of vibration. The revs do seem to "hang" a little between shifts.

Positives: Tight chassis, good brakes, great fit and finish of the body seams and interior appointments, motor makes good torque - (acceleration in 6th gear better than I expected).

One last note is that our experience with Lake Norman Infinity (Charlotte, NC) was very professional. Staff was great with a pretty large selection.

Looking forward to becoming a part of the community!!

Thumbs up

Congradulations on the new Purchase!! You and me have some stuff in Common, I am also a Stang Guy at Heart also! I have a 90GT, With a Vortech! And I can't wait for my new G to Arriv! Please Post some Pics of your New Ride! And Can you Please give more Feedback about the 6Spd? I see you said the Shifter Vibrates. Is it really Bad? I drove a 350Z at work, and it Vibrated Some, but not to a point where it was Unbearable!? How does it shift?, How the Clutch and Engagements work? Smoothly? Since I only drove an Auto 07 G35, and I ordered a 6Spd. Thank's and Enjoy the new TOY!

Congrats and welcome aboard!

I know it's not Cobra power wise, but trust me, it will more than make for it.

Enjoy!

Welcome and Congrats.

I, like you, was a mustang/ford fan until I found Infiniti and I haven't looked back. I hope you enjoy your new 6MT. Nice color combo, btw.

Man you sound just like me.. I had a 87 5.0 mustang conv. for 2 years and than a 95 GT for about 7 years.. and before i got my 99 GS 400 i test drove the Magnum hemi but i figure they wouldn't hold there value like a lexus or japanese car would...

Congrats on your purchase...

Thanks for the "welcome"! I will try to get some pics up next weekend.

808Mike - Shifter vibration looks worse than it feels. At idle, ther is a nice little shake to it, but I don't notice it while driving.
