I took some pictures yesterday. I'll pull them off the camera and post them. The shop already pulled the bumper back out so it's not rubbing on the tires anymore.
they also pulled up the exhaust that was dragging on the ground so they could drive the car off the truck into their garage.

It actually doesn't look bad now that they've pulled most of the pieces back to mostly where they belong.

The rear crumple rails and trunk floor need replacing. Otherwise, they're not sure about the rest of it. It's definitely repairable, which to me is a big negative. I wanted it totalled out because now I have to deal with the lost resale value on a $5-8000 body repair. I have near to zero chance of getting a diminished value settlement in minnesota according to all the lawyers i talked to.

The shop guy said it looked like I was hit hard, but low. Which helps to limit the amount of damage.

Why dont ugly girls ever hit G35s? Every post I see is "Omg this hot girl rear ended me." Followed by "Why dont you get her to make up for the damages non-monetarily." FFS people, go get laid.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, its too bad it won't be written off as a total loss. I also have some damage to my G, by Dad gave it a love tap yesterday backing out of the Garage. 3 weeks to the day after delivery It looks like I'm just going to need to get the front bumper repainted, which unfortunately means I need to get a new 3M kit installed on the bumper

so i couldn't be mean to her.
but damn it!!!
rear bumper is all messed up. trunk messed up. parts of the back are sticking into the trunk. rear passenger bumper and wheel wheel is rubbing against the rear tire.
This really really really sucks!!
It is odd......the same thing almost happend to me.....even though traffic was not that fast.....the car behind me had to slam his or her brakes for some reason.....

It may be the G35's tail lights, that even with me are a bit hypnotic...or just the brand name......that get people in a dream state....:lol

Oh well, hope everything turns out ok.

Sorry bout your bad luck. when I got my first truck my lease guy told me about extra insurance. For around 40$ I get replacement value for anything over $5000.00 damage. Only available for the first two years on new vehicle. This gives me a little piece of mind.

If it makes you feel any better, the first time I took my G on the freeway, glass started kicking up at 75-80mph. Nicked my paint just above my clearbra and also cut into the front bumper in about 10 different places. Two days later I was driving down a busy 6 lane road and I got hit by a golf ball from an old, obviously incompetent, golfer. Needless to say, I wasn't about to let Tiger Woods slide so I quickly pulled a 180 and ran onto the course after him. I made sure to leave with his business card, a picture of his insurance card, and verified his details using his driver's license.

Thankfully the ball only left a small ding and some marks that will buff out. The frightening part is that it hit my front driver panel, about 8" from my windshield.

that seriouly sucks. i would sue the biotch insurance company for a brand new car... its fukn 1 1/2 weeks old. don't let a pretty face stop u from getting ur ride back to what it should be.. NEW...

i mean, cmon, lets say it was the other way around. she would probably sue ur azz for sexual harassment for hitting her to hard from behind... she would sue u for everything you got... you think she's gonna let you get away? i highly doubt it..

i can't understand why guys are soo weak when it comes to girls. its not only sad, but its pretty pathetic... ur crying on this forum and looking at ur car with a pretty sad face... the only way to make it good is to get a new car or get it fix at no cost to you.

people who request BJ's and other crap, thats just lame....

I agree with your last statement.

Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with feeling bad for the person who hit me, guy or girl. Bad luck happens to everyone; that's why people have insurance.
As to the other part of your post, are you a lawyer? Do you know how state laws apply for accident property damage?
If not, no offense intended, but your opinion is useless.

I've talked to multiple lawyers. None will take the case. Minnesota state law does not require insurance companies cover diminshed value. All they have to do is pay for repairs. Period. The damage is enough to **** me off, but not enough to even come close to totalling the vehicle. Only way I'm getting a replacement vehicle is if it was enough to total it. The absolute best odds I got out of a lawyer I talked to is 25% change I'll win. With those odds, they won't take the case under contingency, and at an hourly rate of $200-300, the insurance companies will easily bury me with legal fees.

In other words, it ain't gonna happen. I'd have a better chance getting head from her than getting a replacement car.

What a bummer. I worry that someone will rear end me during this winter season. If they do, they better hit me to the point where the car will be totaled. I would HATE to repair a brand new car.

State of Texas also has no diminshed value. But, the adjuster who I worked with (GEICO) understood my situation and settled on an average diminshed value based on 4 states that do offer diminished value. I didn’t get the money that I was hoping for, but something was better than nothing.

Here’s what you need and should do. After the car is repaired, take the car to CarMax; tell them you want to sell the car (They will inspect the car).
This should give you an idea if Carmax can find any repair damages or faults. If they do, they will definitely give you a lower offer due to the accident. With the letter of offer, take that to the insurance company and reason with them. Tell them why you deserved the diminished value.

This is what I did.

unfortunately, there are no carmax shops in minnesota. Minnesota is odd. Apparently minnesota drivers either get in so many fender benders they don't care, or they just don't care about resale value on their cars.

I've called around and I cannot find a single shop willing to go on record for making a diminished value estimate in the area. There are a couple of web sites that will do a diminished value report for you, but they want a few hundred bucks for it, and without a lawyer backing me up, I doubt I'm going to get anywhere. I'm going to push the insurance company, but unfortunately, in MN, I have no legal leg to stand on, and I'm sure the insurance company knows that.

Today I almost crashed into a guy making an illegal u-turn. Here in Phila., people do so to to avoid a red light by passing through an intersection and banging a u-ee (i.e. to not have to wait for a green left arrow). It was hairy, first time I did the ABS thing on dry pavement in 9 yrs. The Maxima pulled hard to the right and there was mild tire chirping. I've really matured as 4 yrs. ago such an incident would have involved getting out of the car and fisticuffs. Of course, if he was a she and a hottie, I would have smiled at my front end damage!

You're dead on, I think it's an internet thing. Mention the word girl and 5000 guys crawl out of the woodwork. Talk about something meaningful and they all lurk. How stupid, my brand new G35 is messed-up due to some pretty girl's error, so a BJ is gonna make up for it. Somehow I don't think so...
