Fantastic Shane, these cars are not too bad on gas mileage as far as I am concened. I am glad to see you got better mileage, it is possible on longer trips with straight highway driving.
As far as I'm concened that is pretty darn good. I honestly believe our 07s will get as good as I got in my 05.

This was the first long drive I have made with the new G, so it was a good test to see what kind of highway fuel economy I should expect. For a 306 HP, 3500lb sedan hauling four adults, I am more than satisfied.

I forget the exact number, but it's around 1460 KMs. I put over 300 KMs on it today.

My driving over the holidays was 23.2mpg at about 70mph over 5 hours and 21.2mpg at about 80mph over 4 hours. This car a fantastic long hauler. The hours just slipped by with no drama.

Just a note that this is Canadian measurements - our gallon is larger than US. It converts to 24 mpg US. Still pretty respectable. You must be pleased Shane

Yeah, I realized that when Shane put in parenthesis, "Imperial Gallons". I still wouldn't be complaining with 24mpg highway. Thanks for the conversion though, Deane.

I should have known you would be on to that Alex. You're right about the fuel mileage for these cars. They're certainly not fuel misers but that's fairly respectable.

My best my coupe has attained is about 26.5 US highway running about 70-75 mph. average combined is around 17-18 US.

My wife's last car was a 225 hp TL that delivered 30 consistently hwy and up to 31.5 mpg US. Now that was impressive.

Last time I visited my relatives I drove my uncle's corolla. I didn't particularly care for the car but it gave me 30-32 mpg city consistently. I really liked that.

No worries, Deane. I don't catch everything.

On my recent trip up north, mostly highway, around 75 mph avg, my X was only getting around 20. Wish it was better... Had 700 miles on it when I started, now at 960.

Nice. My wife also had a Civic years ago that was just crazy with fuel economy. Not much power and it was pretty noisy too though

Add this one to the list. Seattle to Spokane (293 miles) at a steady 60 MPH and got 26.5 MPG (US) - was in the right hand lane Lowest temperature was 17F and highest was 34F. The car was at 2500 miles. On the way back doing 60 MPH again with the lowest temperature being 30F I got 28.2 MPG but this included some really nasty snow for about 40 miles where I was crawling sometimes. About 10 miles was non highway driving.

FYI - In my Prius on the same run in the summer, I milked 57.7 MPG out of it coming back from Spokane to Seattle. In the winter the best I got was 46 MPG. Yes, the 28.2 MPG was driven in "Prius Mode". I did get it to 30.1 MPG until I hit the snow.

So far, MY computer on the car has just the same uncertainty of filling it up and calculating the miles as it does reading the display. Certainly not the crap shoot of filling up a Prius.
