Best Price on Clear Bra Install?
Hey guys,
Sorry if this question is redundant, but can we start a thread where people state how much they paid for their Clear Bra installations? I really don't want to spend more money than I have to. The dealer offered me a "special deal" by averaging their list price and their dealer cost. It came out to $799 I think. I've received two quotes from certified installers thus far: $750 and $865.
Should I try for a better price? $750 still seems a bit high. If some of you have gotten killer deals that will inspire me to start negotiating.
Thanks!

I'm going through this now too. It does seem rather expensive, doesn't it? Not sure it's really worth it, although I've read a lot of complaints about soft Nissan/Infiniti paint. Still, that's a lot to protect from stone chips...
I think my dealer wanted $899 for the full hood, bumper, fenders, mirror package. Called an installer, and it sounded like they would be around $850. This was for the "extended coverage" templates. That guy told me to go here:
http://www.xpel.com/products/configurator.asp
and select my vehicle to see the different templates they can do. He said they would give approximately a 10% discount off of those prices for the material, and then labor is generally $40 per star of difficulty, and that should give me a pretty good diea of what it will cost.
I may see if my dealer will give me a discount on the clear bra and tire and wheel warranty together.

I had the Autobahnd Roadblock installed
at the dealership before I picked up my '07 Sport AT.
The price was $699 for 1/3 the hood, the bumper, front portions of the fenders, and the front faces of the outside mirrors. I didn't negotiate the price (although I probably could have) because it seemed in line with what others were paying.
Like you, I was very reluctant to part with the money because it is not really an "enjoyable" purchase, however I decided to get the film after reading many reviews of people raving about the protection it offers. Plus, Nissan paint does tend to chip easily (from looking at my '97 Max and '95 240sx).
So I would recommend the Roadblock (or 3M...) highly. Also make sure the installer uses the (correct) template. I've heard horror stories of installers manually cutting film while applying it to the car...and of someone on this forum whose installer used the non-sport template on a sport model.

I pay $600 plus tax for hood, fenders, and bumper. The hood and fenders are from a template and the bump is cut to fit. It fit much better hand cut for the bumper than using a template. All the edges are hiden under the rubber trims, you can't really see the edge of the film unless area that doesn't have any ruber trim.
I was quote for another place for $700 plus tax, and they can use a template if you want. But was told that hand cutting the bumper will fit better.

I got the upper bumper, fender, and standard hood protectors installed. It was quoted at $299 if I purchased it when I bought the car. Regularly $399.
I didn't pay for it when I bought the car but I told them I'd set up an appointment to do it and they said they'd honor the $299.
The bumper kit is 339.95 msrp from xpel.com and the fender/hood + mirror kit is 219.95. Since my install was only the upper bumper and no mirrors, it's slightly cheaper than that.
The installer that did it uses bulk film and cut it as needed to fit the car rather than using pre-cut sheets.
Took about an hour and it was 300something (299 + tax) out the door. I was pretty happy with the price and the coverage.
