I always leave my key fob in my pocket. I don't take it out of my pocket and don't use any of the buttons. The only time I've had to use the buttons is when the panic button gets inadvertently depressed in my pocket. What I would really like is a hard metal case for it, something like the following, but for the key fob (with a little opening in the bottom to take the key out when giving the fob to the valet):

This, I wouldn't mind paying $20 to $30 for. But, that's my ideal choice. Otherwise, I would go for the silicon case that was mentioned earlier.

Question for all you interested … should I have the buttons printed on the neoprene? I can do it, but we all know that any printed area will eventually wear off and look like sh_t. Should we even consider this since we hardly ever use the buttons? Color … I didn’t want to go crazy thinking about it so I was thinking black for the first run to be neutral, but future runs can be in almost any color.

I haven't seen yours in person, but I think the texturing on the key will not allow the film to stick down with a "clear" look. Neoprene or silicon will provide drop protection, and film won't ... easier to paint the remote. Just my thoughts.

OK, I pulled the trigger for production start on the neoprene version. I should have 100 in about 2 weeks. 50 of them will be black and printed with white icons where the buttons are located. The other 50 will be plain black with no icons.
I'll see how they sell before I have more made.

No matter how they print it, I don't think it will be very permanent, especially since the neoprene will be stretched on.
Heat ... possibly, let me look into embossing, but I have a feeling the icons are a little small for that. Combination big rectangles embossed along with print may also be a possibility.
