yes it is an aftermarket wood kit. we also sell the african rosewood kit that extends a lot of pieces to match the factory african rosewood.

you'd be suprise how many people love the plastic coated wood and how many hate it. the chrome doesn't look bad in person and it's a big seller in the dealerships especially on the QX56 SUV's.

Wow, that aftermarket wood trim kit is nice. It looks more like the burl wood trim that BMW offers (which I prefer to the African Rosewood). Who makes that wood trim kit?

Agreed - you answered our posts without answering our questions really - details, details. Is this something only a dealer can get or can the average Joe get this aftermarket kit - and if so, where from and how much? If you don't want to give us a cost (b/c it would show how much of a markup you are putting on it) at least let us know where you are getting it from so we can do the math ourselves!

At the very least, tell us how much we can buy it from you for...

Yea, and then you can............

After you've installed the chrome and wood kits you can get those chrome
eyebrows that go over the top of your wheelwells. But don't forget the
little doggy to put in your back window with the head that bounces when
the car moves........just by an M to begin with!

I checked the ebay Chrome Pillars online, but noticed they only had the middle two bars in the package for both sides(total of four chrome bars). In the picture in this thread the "port/back windows" have a chrome bar going down there to. Is that included in the package, anybody know?

Thanks
Jonathan

it's up to that particular seller. to me it's not worth it to get chrome pillars if it's just the middle pillars not a full set.

This may be the kit in the Real Wood dark burl. 300 dollars. Looks pretty similar. If Da Mayor would just break his silence we could know for sure, but that might be asking too much.

I remember reading a thread a while back where there was a company that would take the original pieces and repaint them to look like wood. It was the only way I ever saw a kit that did not look like it was taped on (because, in fact, it wasn't!)

Word... s/he is obviously purposely avoiding answering our questions pertaining to manufacture and cost of these items... makes it look a bit shady to me - and even if it isn't I don't even want to deal with people who try to be such sneaky and sly businesmen. The only reason why I'd think s/he doesn't want to tell us is because then we'd know the true cost of this kit and, in turn, how much they were marking it up.

Seriously dude... 99.9% of us don't live in your city so it won't matter... we'd have to find a way to buy it ourselves anyway. So, help us out and please answer:

1. Who makes this and where can we find it exactly? You already stated it was aftermarket
2. Is it stick-on or actual replacement pieces (I guess we can find that out once we know # 1)
3. Cost (again, can find on our own if we know # 1)
4. Can we purchase it from you (for you to ship to us). If yes, how much do you charge for this kit?

I laugh everytime I see that accessory, it's $2000 for a piece of plastic which is the same as the $300 accessories. for $2000 it better be real wood and come with installation.

well here at the dealership we install it and it is fully warrantied as well. i've had plenty of people scratch, break, you name -- it happened to their wood kits.

$895 on a full wood kit which is around 26 pieces i believe i have to find out.
