Nope, I just flew over Washington DC and it was just a bunch of light blue 3D cubes.

 

I should mention the picture is not from our cars, something I found on the internet.

 

yup going around New York City it's a million of different cubes. people like the icons more than the 3D building cubes but they try to make it different

 

IIRC, the Transamerica building (obelisk-shaped) in San Fran actually looks like that in the nav -- but a transparent blue like all the other building ice cubes. I'll try to take pics tomorrow.

 

Okay, I was wrong. There are icons that look like famous sites, but the actual 3D "ice cubes" are exactly that -- generic ice cubes.

I've uploaded a video of the nav both in day and night modes. I converted the 100MB+ AVI file to a 12MB+ WMV file. YouTube compresses videos and reduce the quality anyway.

I don't think either of us are wrong. There are not 3D icons for every building BUT there are buildings shown. In Washington I can see the White House, Capitol etc.

 

Try it again.

 

I saw the samethings, and while the shapes were right I still wasn't too impressed. I can live with out it in my city.
