True
hahaha...no need to get all defensive fellas. Just stirring things up a bit. Also, I'm not claiming that I'm a manual tranny driving guru, but I can definitely hold my own.

1) C6 Corvette 6 speed auto, add a torque converter and it's significantly quicker
2) Pontiac GTO LS2
3) 1990-1996 300ZX TT, ability to brake boost, no boost lost between shifts
4) Porsche 911 TT, ability to brake boost, no boost lost between shifts
Automatics are not always slower than manuals. If that were the case then most sub 9 second cars wouldn't be running 2 speed Powerglides. It's is dependent on so many variables including the torque curve, power band, gearing, and torque converter stall speed. If you have a V8 with the right gearing and TC, chances are it will be quicker than it's manual counterpart. If you're talking about 4 banger, then the manual will be much quicker as the 4 banger needs as much torque multiplication as it can get.

Im sure you know 500 Pounds makes an enormous difference.
Im guessing Infiniti added a "Sport" model for no reason then.

Since this is my first time buying a luxo sports car, I am thinking it would be better going with the auto. I don't plan on racing it and I would image the resale value and market would be more inclined to want the auto.
I was also surprised at how much the manual vibrated up thru the shifter and clutch. I expect and had this in some of my previous cars, but it seemed out of character in this one.
This auto vs MT discussion is silly. If you know how to drive a MT like a race car driver (know when to double clutch, know when to downshift, etc...all that sh*t), then MT will have the edge. If you don't know how to drive a MT, then even the fastest car in the world won't beat an auto

Double-clutching has it's advantages on a road race track when you're downshifting and trying to keep the chassis movement as stable and smooth as possible. Upshifting though, double-clutching is pure F&F.
