In other cars when I had this problem, it was typically because of the CD thickness. Some cheap CDs are noticeably thinner than others. Using the thicker ones, and never had a problem...

I actually had the same problem with my in-dash not ejecting the CD. Only happened once, it was a normal purchased audio CD, not a CD-ROM.

The annoying thing was, after pressing the eject button several times and it not ejecting the CD, the message that comes up on the screen is "Please Eject Disc". Now there's an idea....

This past weekend my dealer replaced the Audio Unit in my G35S due to the CD issue. Now, everything works correctly. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the dealer ordered the replacement audio unit without even looking at the car. I think there may be a TSB (or at least advance notice of the issue), since I find it very odd that they ordered the unit in advance.

Also, I noticed something else that has changed (for the better). With the old unit, when I made a call via Bluetooth, regardless of whether I used the Phonebook or direct dial, the system would say 'Dialing' and then prompt me on the screen to press 'Enter'. Until I actually pressed the Enter button, Bluetooth would not dial the phone. Now, when making a call, again either via the Phonebook or direct dial, the system makes the call immediately without the prompt to press the 'Enter' button.

I did lose all the settings, including the sound system settings, bluetooth (you have to pair your phone again), phonebook entries, Music Box recorded CD's (I had burned over 30 CD's), and some of the Navigation System settings. They also had to reactivate the XM Radio and Real-Time Traffic. It didn't take long to restore my parameters, but I am still burning my CD's which will probably take 2-3 days to complete.

Overall, I was very pleased with the work from the dealer (Infinti of Pleasanton). No one could ever tell that the unit had been replaced.

Also, for anyone having this issue, it would be prudent to have the unit changed ASAP, since it is Infiniti's policy to only install remanufactured replacement parts for issues such as this one. In my case they were able to replace it with a brand new unit. They told me the only reason they could do that was because the '07 G35 was so new, there were no remanufactured audio units available. Typically this takes a few months before there are enougn remanufactured units to supply all the dealers.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
