yea, cause washing is only the first step in the detail process...when the dealers prep the car for delivery, they follow up the wash with a polish, sealant etc etc...

the service washes tend to be quick and haphazard while the prep jobs are done by pros.

mine was clean and smooth. it felt as if it was clayed and waxed. it was int he showroom so i gues it was sort of clean already. but my moms car was the same (we got 2 cars same day, same dealer. she got the m35). it had the protective tape over it so by the time we did the paper work, both cars were spotless.

They always spend more time on the new cars, It's also easier to make it look, feel, and smell great when their new.

the fastest w/ 4 guys working on a car is 1 1/2 hours --- road test the car first, adjust all fluids, tire pressure -- then rip off all plastic inside and out, wash, sealant, underbody spray sealant, dry, special glue removing sealant, then hand wax and dry.

i've seen some others run new cars through a car wash and spray wax the cars..... i'll keep those dealers anonymous

Mine was done good. Ours is also the mercedes dealership so I think they do the detailing. I also liked that the asked me first if I wanted the front plate on or not. It is illegal to not have it here but they still asked and now I don't have any holes in the front that I need to plug.

Same here. I was very impressed at how clean and smooth everything was.
