yea, cause washing is only the first step in the detail process...when the dealers prep the car for delivery, they follow up the wash with a polish, sealant etc etc...
the service washes tend to be quick and haphazard while the prep jobs are done by pros.

mine was clean and smooth. it felt as if it was clayed and waxed. it was int he showroom so i gues it was sort of clean already. but my moms car was the same (we got 2 cars same day, same dealer. she got the m35). it had the protective tape over it so by the time we did the paper work, both cars were spotless.

the fastest w/ 4 guys working on a car is 1 1/2 hours --- road test the car first, adjust all fluids, tire pressure -- then rip off all plastic inside and out, wash, sealant, underbody spray sealant, dry, special glue removing sealant, then hand wax and dry.
i've seen some others run new cars through a car wash and spray wax the cars..... i'll keep those dealers anonymous
