If something like this is installed, does the MAF have to be reprogrammed or anything like that? And typically, does the (presumably) lower back pressure increase top-end HP but sacrifice torque?

No, the MAF actually never gets reprogrammed as its not programmable. I think you mean the ECU. Regardless, exhaust doesnt need ECU reprogramming to be installed. However, sometimes you gain a bit more from the ECU being reprogrammed to take advantage of the exhaust. That being said, you should never expect any exhaust to give you any substantial power gains, its mostly for sound and aesthetics.

Typically less back pressure will increase both torque and HP but where in the range it depends on the engine. Typically you gain midrange mostly, lost a slight amound in the bottom and gain a slight amoung in the top.

I will too, as long as it's deep and quite, I hate loud exhausts on nice, classy looking cars.

Wow, that was fast. Seems like the 07's will have a lot of aftermarket goodies soon. Who will be the 1st TT kit out?!? Greddy always seems to be first but can they do it again and will it be as good as the last one? Tune in next week to see.
