Interesting computer glitch today

Forgot to put foot on brake when pressing start button this morning...

When I realized what I did, I pressed the brake and pressed the start button again. Car cranked and I pulled out and headed to work.

I turned the temp **** to adjust the temp and noticed something was not right.

Normally when you change the temp, fan speed, mode, etc the settings display at the bottom of the LCD screen but they were not displaying when
I changed the settings.

Everything was working, just that the settings were not displaying at the bottom of the LCD screen.

I fiddled with the settings it all the way to work and they wouldn't display at the bottom of the LCD screen.

When I got to work I pressed the button and turned off the car and then
recranked it (pressing the brake this time) and now it worked fine.

No problems on the drive home.

Wonder if pressing the start button without pressing the brake and then
pressing the brake and cranking it without 1st pressing the button to turn
everything off somehow borked the computer software and turning the
car off when I got to work reset it?

Working in the tech industry, I've come to understand that it's not uncommon for advanced electronics to have glitches (!).

WRT cars, on my last car ('03 Maxima), I once started it on a summer day, and after a few minutes couldn't figure out why it was getting hot inside. Hot air coming out of the vents...hmmm... Stopped and restarted the car, AC came on, problem solved...?

Same thing when doing some testing of the new RSB and FSTB . Suddenly the car seemed to be at half-power, couldn't figure out why. Stopped and restarted, problem solved.

These are two incidents over something like four years, so not a problem - just stuff...

I read a review somewhere of a Ford GT, and the gauges wouldn't work, so the guy tried a trick of turning the lights on and off once, and they clicked on. As the above said, just very advanced glitches.

I found a glitch with the bluetooth. If your phone drops the call or has a call fail the car continues to dial anyway. You cannot end the call using the button.

I accidentally found the way around this though. Redial the number on your phone and the car will pick it back up. Then you can talk to the person or hang up through the car.

When you were trying to see the display at the bottom of the LCD, what was on the upper part of the screen? Were you in map mode or status mode? I noticed a neat trick while in status mode that if you hit status mode several times you cycle through various information in the lower portion of the screen such as fuel econ, climate control, route, etc...pretty cool.

Upper part of screen was displaying as normal. My cars non-nav.

Another thing I found with the Bluetooth is that when my phone is left, for example, in on of the games dialing starts (on screen) but never reports back any issues unlike during initial hook-up when I start the car and try to call immediately. I wonder if it's common or just my phone?
