anyone in the socal area know of a good tint shop? i went and got a quote from this one place in LA for $400 which seemed high. what are you guys experiences with getting tint in LA?

 

Too high for metallic tint. Are they quoting ceramic film?

Metallic should be between $200 and $300.

 

i went to tint zone in rowland heights and paid $125 for my coupe with lifetime warranty. the guy does really good work too. i'm sure a lot of people on here can vouch for him.

 

wuts the differance between metallic and ceramic?

 

percentage being the same, iirc, ceramic protects from UV and heat MUCH better than metallic. that way you can go higher percentage (lighter in coloer) but still get the same protection as a lower percentage metallic tint.

i donno if that made any sense to you.

Metallic can also block radio signals which is bad if you have antennas for FM, GPS, Sat radio in or under your glass. Depends on the car and tint though.
