Rear License Plate Lamps

someone asked me today and i don't know the answer to this. Does the G have the LED lamps for the rear license plate, a'la the is350 or are they just standard bulbs?

ie, see below:

the IS has the LED and our G has the regular
i just changed to 2 4-led bulbs and they are super bright..
i think 1-led bulb should be good enough...

btw, i went and asked the IS's LED... they won't work on the other car.. they won't sell the bulbs alone... they have to sell the module which costs like $80 for each one

LEDs allow less wattage to be used and packaging needs less space... since the lights aren't a drag and the wiring allows for this wattage, and you won't gain space since the packaging is done... why bother switching to LED?

they are kinda bright but it would look strange with only 1 bulb since you can see the reflections off the frame. i had some other LEDs that weren't as bright and had a slightly bluer tint so i may switch back to those. i really like the look tho, always did on the IS.

I's also like to know where you got them + manufacturer, model, specs, price. I think those look really good.

First pic shows one bulb replaced on the left side. The output isn't as bright as stock so I think it looks perfect...not bright at all. Picked up the bulbs from PepBoys for $7.99US. Took about 5 minutes and no tools.

I saw that post by bertmauricio - but that post has the lights w/ a blue tint in them (which I don't want). I want to know which LED's he put in in this post (w/ the whiter lights).

bertmauricio - can you please comment.

You're right. The one he posted here is whiter.
