It's odd that the AWD has better milage???

That's great politics because in NJ, <= 19 mpg means luxury tax. Many seemingly innocent cars will be added to the rolls that are taxed as a result.
Even more ludicrious is no matter what number and what combinations of numbers I put into their conversion calculator, it merely subtracted 2 mpg. We already know that the EPA is one of the least scientific agencies in DC, but...now all we need is for DOT to revise UTQG ratings for tires, I'm thinking subtract 2 from the treadwear and one letter, so what used to be 140 AA A is now 138 BB B

I feel better now, I had no idea how someone could get 25mpg out of a X, I am finally averaging over 20 and the weather has been horrible lately, once the temperature levels off a bit I suspect I will get close to(if not) 23mpg.

at any rate, the 19 combined for the X seems too optimistic.

Well, that does seem more realistic.
I'm averaging around 20 mpg on my X, but I drive 80-90% highway (990 miles in my first 10 days with the car).

Interesting, the 16.1 mpg average based on 1 vehicle must have been my G.
I have still never seen 20mpg average after almost 4,000 miles. I've never seen 20 mpg period.
They say 20 combined, I would love to see 20 mpg!

I don't really agree, I'm averaging about 17.6 calculated in my X with atleast 90% of my driving in the city.Originally Posted by gao

Either you are one of the lucky few or SedanMan and I got the sucky batch of Xs. Its just unbelievable what a huge discrepancy between mine and yours. For the record, I'm still averaging 14ish combined. Even the mad man got 17s

I have no idea why your fuel consumption is so bad. I attribute my mid 17s to the cold weather and only driving in the city, so I think I will see better results when it warms up a bit.Originally Posted by gao

I am getting 17.5 MPG in my Sport. That is up from 16.8 last week! And that is in all kinds of driving in all kinds of traffic.
As I learn the gas pedal, I am hoping to seem my MPG go up. I will keep you posted.
