Kinda wishing I would have waited for the coupes. I wonder how this is going to effect the aftermarket for our motors. I guess all the cool stuff is going to be geared toward the 3.7L now.

Market for older models will be very huge after everyone upgrades. So you got nothing to worry about. G is here to stay.

They come with 20's too. I still think the 08 is going to be over-rated

I know it is still up in the air but it seems that most of the "sources" are talking about a 3.7L replacing the 3.5L

it has already been confirmed by numerous sources that the 08 g35 coup will get a watered down version of the 3.7 TT from the GT-R. But it will still have kick *** performance and power for a naturally aspirated motor probably going to produce like 315-325hp and 265-280tq

I wouldn't worry about getting the latest and greatest ... it's a losing battle (think personal computers). Otherwise, you may as well wait for the 2012 4.0 TT .

Really very different cars...
Pick the body style and be happy!! The 07 G35 is phenomenal.

The early Coupes will always have that classic look and won't be easily outdated. Besides, as nice as the 08 Coupe looks, the change is not so extreme as to keep anyone from knowing immediately that it is an Infiniti Coupe.

Actually, it's a latin derived phrase - an abbreviation of et alia, which means “and others.” But I speak french, so what do I know.

As for the coupe... who knows what it will have. But based on the 335i numbers... I bet they put the 3.7 liter on the fast track, even if they weren't originally planning on it being there for the initial year, which I bet they weren't.

I can just see a bunch of Infiniti engineers sitting around, watching the performance data of the 335i roll in and look at each other with that "oh fugg" look on their faces.

The G35 was always faster than the 3 series in the past... a big selling point. That's very valuable to the branding of the G35. They want that back, or at least similar performance. BMW really smashed it out of the park with the 335i, performance wise. It's better than the current M3. Dayum.

Why do you really care about an extra 20HP? Are you taking your car to the track on a regular basis? If so why did you buy a sport sedan?

On another note, many owners are complaining because they want better fuel efficiency and increasing displacement isn't going to do it. 306HP makes this car pretty damn fast, far more than we really need on the streets. I love my 07 sedan and I am happy with the 3.5L.

That wouldnt make any sense at all.

I do agree, or atleast believe, that the 3.7 liter will become an option. But replacing the VQ35HR makes no sense at all.
