Lane change warning...

how do I enable/disable this feature? I wanna check it out, but I cannot find it in the manual. Most likely because I do not know the correct name for it...

Thanks!

Is it called Lane departure ? I knew it was on the M but I never realized you could get it on the G.

LOL, I almost went to Infiniti.com to check on that one. Nope not on the G. I guess they need to perfect it first before they put it back on anymore of their vehicles??? I hear it can be pretty annoying?

That and maybe they still need to give shopper's a reason to pick the M over the G (other than the size)

Remember when the M first came out --- it was called something like "Sports sedan with a brain" or something like that -- emphasizing on its technological gizmos (most of which are now in the G !!)

What is this thing you're talking of. I realize the G doesn't have it, but I've never heard of it in respects to any car?

It is called the lane departure warning system (in the M)
basically some kind of a sensor/camera that "reads" the lane lines (the white marking) on the road and alerts you if the car drifts across lanes without using the blinkers (it equates this to an unintentional lane change)

Not sure it's on your G but if it is, and it's like my M, there should be a defeat button down on the left opposite your left knee.

You're driving the wrong model.

Thanks for the info... I'm trying to think if this is a good or bad feature. On the one hand it seems like a really good safety feature, but then again on the other it seems like I often switch lanes without a blinker

Yeah, I guess I remember it from the M. Sorry, I can be a moron sometimes. At any rate, it was annoying as hell. I was confused as to why my car hasnt been beeping at me the past week or 2 as I have been intentionally not signaling when it wasnt necessary... Now, I know. Haha. I wanted to figure out how to turn it on, to show it as one of the cool new gadgets, but I would definately have turned it back off.

It's not that bad (we have it on our M) but I tend to use my lane departure warning abatement mechanism... or blinker.

Nope, not on the G. I will say after driving our FX in the rain a lot this Spring that lane departure thing is annoying as crap. It gets "confused" in the rain I think and just tends to go off for no reason. Personally I hate it.
