Nope, no charges at all......unless you get the XM Traffic option.

Yes everyone has told you.

You buy the system, have it installed, and it works, no more money out of pocket. I am installing my system today!

I think dealers were trying to charge for Navi usage years ago, but definitely not anymore unless you want traffic info. I wouldn't be surprised if some dealer tried to pull that off though.

I heard that in order to get live traffic, you need both XM radio and XM traffic, which is like $13 a month for the radio and $8 a month for the traffic.
I also thought I heard from somewhere that you might be able to get the traffic without the radio. Does anyone know for sure?

You can have XM Traffic w/o XM Radio

Due to an oversight when I purchased my car, the XM Traffic wasn't started for almost 2 weeks after I started my radio trial.

When I didn't renew the XM Radio and the stations went blank, the XM Traffic continued working, and should continue working until the end of next week for me.

Soooo, yes the XM traffic will work w/o the radio. I just don't know if they will "allow" it as programming option.

They do, but will charge you more for Traffic when you do it a la carte

XM NavTraffic only: $9.95 per month
XM NavTraffic and XM radio combined: $12.95 radio plus $3.99

They do not take CC info to activate trial. At end, it will simply terminate. Just call them, and give them info to avoid service interruption

You should get subscription info in the mail before the trial expires - I got about three mailings from them with instructions on starting the paid subscription.
