Just got 07 G - New to forum
Hello everyone - Just picked up my 07 last monday, have been waiting since November (I told the dealer "no rush" so I could avoid hitting salt/sand covered streets with a brand new car). Sport models are rare in new england, the dealers stock mostly the G35X. The G is a great car, its taking all the restraint I have not to tach it out for the first thou. miles. Just coming from a 02 WRX, which was also great fun car.

Anyway, did you have any issues negotiating a price below MSRP because the dealer didn't stock the S? I am over in Rochester, NY and facing the same dealer situation. Any thoughts?

You're right, sports (especially 6MTs) are scarce in New England. I had to wait about a month, my dealer locked onto a 6MT that was on the boat and allocated to another dealer but unsold.
I Negotiated something off MSRP (actually XXXX over invoice) but I had to play two dealers against each other to do it. Could probably have done a little better by more negotiation, but it wasn't worth the effort.

Thanks. all - Appreciate the warm welcome.
I ended up midway between invoice and MSRP - I told the salesman that I was in no hurry for the car and would probably wait until spring. At the time (nov.) and my sense from the discussion boards was that most were paying at or near MSRP.
I said I would meet them halfway, and did not expect them to match. When they did, I ordered.
It probably helps in eastern MA that there are five or six dealerships within an hour of Boston.
