Just pulled the new G into the garage

Just took delivery after what seemed like an eternity of waiting.
The nice thing about having a dealer 75 miles away is the awesome ride home in my brand new G.... listening to A Momentary Lapse of Reason and enjoying the effortless cruise using ICC.

Anyways, I just pulled into the garage and after shutting off the car, it started making a quick beeping noise inside the cabin, almost like when you leave your lights on and the car is warning you, although my lights were not on.
Any thoughts what the beeping noise is telling me?

Also was trying to figure out what the little blinking car light in the dash cluster was telling me, but the manual states that is the security system showing it is set.

But what is that beeping noise after shutting down?

I just got in the cat, started it, shut if off and then opened the door... no more beeping.

Did I just pay $40K just to have a car prove I'm nuts?
I wonder why it was beeping like crazy and yet no longer does it?

Congrats on the new car. You will learn to love it at first, then you'll really start to love it!

Multiple beeps could mean a few things, eg. driver door opened with ignitiion in ACC positios......or key left in the port.......or driver door opened with lights on. See Pg 2-20 of the manual.

BTW, you should not be really using cruise control during the break-in period..rather try to vary the speed.

I know, I know... but I did vary it a lot.
The fact is, without it, I was feeling the great temptation to be naughty.

I changed speed about every mile.
The wife followed me home and kept calling me, wondering if I was falling asleep, since my speed varied so much.

Usually, when she follows me home from somewhere, she sees my tail lights for about a minute and then I'm gone.... and on the couch, sipping on a beer by the time she gets home.

It will beep like that anytime you open your door before you shut off the car.

Thanks guys.
I just tested it and that was it... it beeps if I open the door, then kill the engine.
Close and open the door again, no beeping.

I've had Cruise in my past cars since I can't remember when, and I hardly ever use it.
It's only usefull in the wee hours when nobody else is on the road.

The ICC is awesome and makes the tech package worth it all by itself.
It works even better than I expected.

Never got to test it out on my testdrive, as they had no Tech Package equipped cars when I was there testing.

Very happy with it.
