Glad you brought up the clutch. I stalled it just after I left the parking garage last night, and while I thought the clutch felt a little abrupt I wrote it off as me just getting used to it. Then I stalled it AGAIN on the way in, and realized the clutch take-up is too abrupt, the engine's throttle tip-in is too abprut, and neither provides enough feedback to let you know exactly what's going on with them. I came in and asked Michael Jordan about the car's clutch and he 100% agreed.

Whew! For a while there I thought I'd forgotten how to drive a stick...

BTW, I didn't try the cruise out, and I'm not sure about the active steer option. I'll see what I can find out.

well, i'm glad i'm not the only one that had issues clutching the manual G. I stalled it 4 times on my test drive and it was the main reason why I decided not to wait for a 6mt with nav/prem and just get thr 5AT they had on the lot.

It takes a while to get used to. I still have problems with Trey's car but it was better after he swapped over to the Clutchmaster's clutch.

i test drove the 6mt for the first time today...it is a little bit different then my 06 coupe (which isnt an easy clutch either)...i actually thought it was different for the better though. The throttle i thought on this car will take more getting used to for me then the clutch itself. The throttle on the 07 is MUCH more responsive then my 06 coupe, the rpms fly up like theres no tomorow compared to my car lol. But i didnt have an problems the car drove just fine for me.

Haha I was a little embarrased about the whole thing. Especially since I'd been driving stick for about 15 years.

Sure yeah -- the gas pedal is quite sensitive and that makes it harder to drive the MT in a smooth fashion.

However, try pressing the gas somewhere above the middle (not towards the bottom as its done all the time) -- this pedal is hinged at the floor and hence most sensitive closer to the floor.
It gets some getting used to (weird foot postion) - but it helps control it better.

That's good to know .... if and when it comes time to replace the clutch (I hope never ), I'd have to look at it.

As of now, it looks like all it takes is a bit of getting used to the high-takeup.

Also I saw a clutch adjustment thread that talked about lowering the engagement point .... also I read some posts that it *might* lead to clutch wear --- not sure if I should try it ...

IIRC, moving the pedal doesn't do very much on changing the engagement point. I doubt it would make it all that much better. It is certainly different when you are "ingrained" with a different style of clutch.

Aww shoot ... I did think that it was too good to be true !!!
Guess it is just a matter of practice then .... oh well, another excuse to drive it

The biggest issue with the high-takeup is that I have to more or less move my heel to manage the clutch -- just pivoting with my ankle doesn't work -- and that causes some trouble !

my problem was definitely on the takeup. The spring felt really really strong and basically it wanted to force my foot off the throttle.

I know my legs aren't super strong, but I do a good amount of running, so I don't think they're super weak either .

I'm sure if I bought a 6MT, I'd eventually have gotten used to it though.
