hahaha, that is what happend to me as well! Then one day i notcied it and it was locking by itself!

I noticed that as well, i think their is some kind of sensor that detects the remote is in the car, but wont lock unless you manualy lock it. I know the mercedes (from 2000 and newer) wouldn't allow you to lock the car if the keyfob was inside the car and the key wasnt in the iginition.

That would be a pain for me too, I lock it when I need it by habit.
once you get customed to just hitting the black button on the door handle everytime you close the door it isnt a problem.. i had the same feelings about the lack of this feature but once you get use to it , it basically becomes routine

My irritant is you have to all the doors closed to lock the car with the door button and gives an alarm if one of the passenger doors is still open.
I've had a few occasions when I'm out of the car and pressed the button but ther passenger hasn't closed their door yet.
