you can buy 3m film in several places. only a few bucks.

example: http://www.stickercity.com/store/home.php?cat=2224 DIY!!

cut the strips, and squeegie it on yourself. F**k $180 "grille kits".

You might want to get the grille replaced before you 3M it...

you guys are going to love this.

400 miles and my grille is pitted already.

Very little freeway driving, and I never tailgate. (I'm usually out front).

The grille is defective. I have *never* seen plastic/chrome pit on a car with 400 miles even compared to a Hyundai or Kia.

WTF?!?!?!

Complain to the stealership. I am getting a new grill under warantee..not that a new one will hold up an better.

If you 3M, plan on it being permanent.
I've heard horror stories of people getting crackle marks under the film, trying to remove the film, and it causing "S" loads of chrome plastic removal.

Ends up being worse than the chip itself would have been.

Only real option is hoping for a company to create a duplicate, made of real metal and chrome, as Infiniti should have done to begin with.

hopefully enough people will complain before the bumper-bumper warranty is over. maybe they'll offer the coupe style grille.

wonder if there is anything we can do...

has anyone actually tried the 3M film?

Maybe you could remove it and spray some kind of clear laquer on it or something....

is it easy to remove?

what a piece of garbage.

Leasee Question

Does this problem affect a Leasee? If I turn the car in 3 years, are they going to say I've done damage to it and charge me?

Just take it in and have them replace it as many times as they have to. Nissan is known for cutting corners somewhere, and although the new 07 sedan is very high quality in many departments, Nissan HAS to cut a corner somewhere to offer the great package of a car they do for the the price they do. Unfortunately, it was in your grille

I had my car 3M-ed but they did not do the grill. Seems pointless to if it ends up being nicked and pocked up.

I think the metal grill is the only solution, unless Nissan is looking to sell more fabric bras.
