It is the second time I have bought a car from a dealership, the first being a 2003 Acura CL Type-S. Both purchases took nearly 8 hours, but I came away with the best deals. This one was a bit easier, mainly because it was a new car, but it was worth it to negotiate!
Maybe I should start a "how to get the best deal on a new G35" thread.
Sorry you are jealous. But I hope you are happy with your car.

I look forward to reading articles from fellow G owners.

I honestly did not mean to put $1000 under invoice. That would be too good of a deal.
It was $1000 under the sticker price, which was about the MSRP. You are right, the car is too new to go under invoice.
Even using the Costco membership for car buying was not much of a help, but the dealer applied the savings anyway.
Sorry for all the confusion. I still think $1000 under MSRP was still pretty good. Just not as good as $1000 under invoice!

I had a great experience at Herb Chambers Infiniti in Boston. They gave me a great price without hassle.
The sales manager at Herb Chambers was excellent. They couldn't quite match Quirk's price, but they came close, and they had the color I wanted. The tech package cars are hard to find I guess.
Can't say enough about Herb Chambers. They were great. Hope this helps! I love the car! :-)

I ended up with a Platinum Graphite G35x, Prem/Nav/Tech/Trunk Mat/Mudguards for $37,100 - which is somewhere around $400 - $500 over invoice I think. MSRP was $40,190.
Lease w/Sales tax (not property tax) is $478.00. 12mos/24k miles, and I put about $2900 total out of pocket (1400 down + fees/taxes, etc) to get it.

Your lease is really for only 12 months with 24k miles?

My mistake - not quite that good. :-) 24 mos / 24k miles. I think it was just because Quirk (a local dealer) was going out of business and practically giving cars away. Plus - January is probably a tough time to sell cars in New England. Still, buying from Herb Chambers was one of the best car buying experiences I've had. Nice guys. If you're looking - go check out the VPP page to see if your company has a deal with Nissan.
If you do - it's probably plan D
PLAN A & C is basically for Nissan employees only from what I can tell ('07 G35 is available on this plan)
http://www.insidenissan.com/vpp/nissan/index.html
PLAN D seems like it's for other companies that have special pricing with Nissan ('07 G35 is not available as of 2/8 on this plan):
