1-2 days away from Lemon Law
damn... just read your threads. nothing worse than buying an expensive brand new car to only have it take a crap within a 1,000 miles. i had a car once that was frequently in the shop under warranty. it's a total nightmare for someone with a job and no time. my sentiments go out to you... and i really hope things work out. make sure u go over the car with a fine tooth comb if u don't go after the lemon law. especially looking for small scratches on any interior finishing panels they may remove.

We had it done back to original but the old dolphenheimer (sp?) 4 speed trannys locked up so bad- so we took the stock 170 out of it and dropped a bored out 289, auto tranny and some other upgrades in it. It has the stock spinner wheels and whatnot, not rednecked out like a lot of people do to them. Sorry for the tangent, I got excited when I saw Shelbys in his sig!
Carry on!

The IS is soooo small. feels like a go-cart when you walk up to it.
No need to go into all the differences here. Many threads about why we all bought the G. Many auto mags talk about the bad steering and disconnect from the road.. blah blah blah.
I think that post is coming from a lurker.
As for your car - I'm surprised they didn't proactively give you a new one before the lemon law deadline was even close.

For many enthusiasts, the IS350 never even made the first cut since it did not even offer a manual transmission as an option.
Also the interior of the IS is quite small and feels cramped.
Mayor: I hope Infiniti makes it up to you .... this was definitely an exception.

But if you're looking for more luxury than sport, then the IS350 is probably for you.

I'm not sure if they are going to get it fixed by the end of this week, but regardless I really hope Infiniti's customer care comes through for me. I have an open case file with them and haven't really received much help thus far. If it does get fixed today or tomorrow I hope they do more for me than say "Here you go, we fixed it. Sorry it took so long."

That's an annoying situation. If you do return the car, consider this-
Got a 330i sport/premium last weekend in addition to the G35S. I must say, the BMW is such a better car than this G35. I will be ditching the G35 soon and considering a second BMW or other for our stable. My latest opinion.

Not a BMW fan anyway; and if it's not a 335 or M3, what's the point??

I know...I was a bit surprised by how much more I like the car now that we own both rather than trying to decide between one or the other.
I would have and did say/do the same thing prior to picking up this 330i. But, we put 1200 miles on it going down the east coast last weekend, and I must say that the road feel and handling did it for me. Extended time in the car gave me a new perspective on the BMW. There is something about that car that is so much more enjoyable to drive than my G. Finish quality on the interior is better as well. And, the BMW is much quieter inside. The AC does suck in the BMW compared to the G.
That said, the G's motor still kills it, G has more tech features and I think the steering on the G is much better. There is no arguing that Infiniti service is far better. But the BMW's overall balance and poise through bumps, onramps and all those daily twisties we hit is much better than the G35 as far as I'm concerned. The 330 always stays balanced and neutral whereas I find the G35 gets a little upset when pushing it on imperfect surfaces. I feel more of the road, more connected in the 330.
The cars are very close in many ways, but for me the handling difference is more enjoyable than the horsepower difference. As a power junkie and motorsports enthusiast, I think a 335 would be perfect, but honestly - the motor in the 330 is plenty for most people - it has a very usable power band. There really is no dissing the G35, as it is a great car, but with miles in both now under my belt, the BMW gives me the bigger grin.

The 330i is great though. I test drove one when I got my G. I liked it more but it would have been quite a bit more than my G with the options I wanted (and the 335xi wasn't out yet which is what I would have wanted). The ride and handling were like no other.
