Nice Surprise from Austin Infiniti

I took my G35 Sedan in for the first oil/filter change today and they told me the first oil service is free.

My sales rep never mentioned it and that detail wasn't in any of the literature or follow-up mailings I got. Even when I booked the appointment, the receptionist didn't mention it.

I went in to pick the car up and my service advisor told me they do the first oil change at no-charge.

He also made a point of giving me a print-out of the key-fob notice and said that they were told that it was mostly just the Treos and some other PDA phone that I don't remember. My old Motorola V551 isn't supposed to be a problem.

I just got my car from Austin only problem is that im not going to be around for 1st oil change.

Does anyone know if they do this anywhere else or is it only because you got the car there?

the new notice is that you can't have the cell phone and intelligent key in the same pocket.

I really don't remember the other phone type. Since neither were the V551, I didn't reserve any brain space for the information. Every time I try to remember something new, it pushes out some other important data (like the memory of Kurt Russell playing the jungle boy on Gilligan's Island in 1965.)

Spades03, the way my advisor set it, it was my free because it was my first visit. Perhaps you can still get a free oil-change on you first visit there even if it's not the first oil-change the car gets.

I live in Austin, but bought my car at Gunn in San Antonio... I wonder if it applies to me also?

You bought the car in SA!?

That means, instead of the free oil-service, you get the complimentary clear-coat swirls and interior greasy handprints from the Austin dealership.

Seriously though, call and ask. They told me it was free because it was my "first visit", not specifically because I bought the car there. I didn't ask for clarification at the time, so it might be for anyone's first visit.

My first oil change at my dealership costed me $65... Is that too much?
