I've gotten tired of typing intelligent Key -- so I started using iKey

Its a Siemen's product btw (in case you don't like that company either )

Interesting ... never thought of a horn swap

So how easy was the swap (de-install, install etc ?)
What do these horns cost approx ??

Any sound clips of your horn "honking" ??

I am reviving this thread 4.5 years later! I know I have to push both lock and unlock on remote i-key fob to change modes from chirping/honking to not chirping/honking. But here's the rub, I have used chirp mode by pressing request switches on door handles for years now. Suddenly, no chirping. I thought somehow my mode got changed. I pressed both lock and unlock on remote simultaneously for way more than 2 seconds as required in owners manual and no change. I tried with other remote and same thing: no change state. How do I change from silent mode back to honk/chirp mode? Somethings screwed up with my car I think. All Nissans and infinitis change chirp/honk mode by pressing both lock unlock key fob buttons simultaneously, but mine seems to be stuck in no chirp/honk mode for some reason. Thanks.

I'll revive this thread again! I fixed this problem a while ago. Not sure what happened. Using computer at dealer, once connected to vehicle, there are even more options that you can pick from for setting chirps and honks when locking and unlocking. I found honk annoying , too noisy. Lights flashing is good enough indication for me.

When pressing lock and unlock buttons on remote you are limited to two choices only: either honk when lock using key fob and chirp when use request switch OR No honk, no chirp. With dealer computer you can actually pick and choose what you want more specifically. Now when I lock car with remote it's set up to flash lights but not honk when locking with key fob but still chirp if I use request switch. There is probably a whole host of things you can configure with their PC...

I had them disable low battery warning that appears on IP center display for key fob too. That warning has been on for at least 3 years now and I am still using the OEM battery from March 2008 LOL!!! I figure the day it stops working I'll know and will put a new battery in (that I have been carrying around for 3 years just in case!). Really, why throw a battery out that still works? I think low battery warning is set to go off way too early.

Mechanic is a friend of mine so he hooked me up.

LOL! Don't worry about battery leaking. It has to stop working first before leakage starts!... I'm pretty sure about this anyway. When it stops working, I will swap it out.
