turning off horn when arming the alarm

Does anyone know how to turn off the horn when I lock the doors using the key fob? I did a search but couldn't find anything. Thanks

Keep looking. I know there was a way to do it on the earlier ones so I'm sure it's the same.

there is a setting for alerts or something like that in the settings screens. problem is, it also turns off the chirp when locking/unlocking with the door handle button. so i left it on because i like the chirp feedback. nice to have a choice between the two feedbacks. use the remote button in the day, and the door handle at night, i guess

Hold the "lock" and "unlock" button together for more than 2 secs
It will switch to light only mode (lights will flash 3 times)

Unfortunately, this also disables the "chirp" from the iKey door button (which I like)

Pressing the lock/unlock together again for >2secs will put you back to lights+horn mode (what you have now)

Yeah - but you remembered why you didn't like it (same reason why I don't like it !!) -- the darn thing turns off the iKey "chirp" as well.

I wish they had used the chirp for everything instead of the fugly sounding honk.

I actually hate the chirp. I like how it's completely silent, with only the turn signals blinking. Note that with the horn and chirps off, when you unlock your trunk by pressed the trunk lid button, your car will still chirp 3 times. Safety reasons.

Heh heh -- good that Infiniti gave us the choice to keep the chirp or not
I am paranoid - so I want to hear the chirp to ensure that I locked the car

I'm so paranoid, I hear the chirp, and still try the handle to be sure it's locked

I like the chirp but hate the horn. I can't understand for the life of me why Infiniti/Nissan would put a cool chirp on the door handle but leave the horrendous "it sounds like a domestic car" horn sound for the fob...

at first i thought it was stupid too.

but then i thought of how many times i've gone half a parking lot and then wondered if i locked the car or not. pressing the button and getting an audible confirmation loud enough to hear from that distance is kind of useful...

With my Mazda6, I'd press the LOCK button on my key fob once to lock silently, twice to lock and get the horn. I wish the Infiniti key fob did that. I do admit, as much as I hate the horn, I do find it useful as a security measure in case you doubt yourself. I try to look for the turn signals, but it's not always accessible if, for example, you've crossed several lanes of parked cars in the parking lot. The horn is great because sound travels.

It's also great for locating your car at night (e.g., leaving a sports event). But I guess you can always use the PANIC button. I feel sorry for people walking near your G.
