Getting ready to pull the trigger...
shop around, 1000 off msrp is crap. even 2000 off msrp is not much of deal these days. maybe back when the car just released but since its been out for so long its cheaper now. 2 months ago when i got mine, 6mt,navi,premium,tech 2800 off msrp. that dealer didnt even have one in stock too, they had to do a dealer trade.
if the current dealership wont give u the price u want go to another one. keep shopping around through dealers, tell them what you want to pay and you have money on hand. let them know your serious!
eventually one will bite then if you want to save even more have them print out the price they give you, take that in to other dealerships and ask them if they can beat it. gl

MSRP should not be your starting point. Give them the invoice price - 500 and work from there. Its all mind games. When you talk in terms of MSRP, they are doing you a favor by coming down. When you talk in terms of invoice( or less than invoice), you are doing them a favor by paying more.
Thanks for the tip. I really like the look without the spoiler. (seems more elegant almost) As for the 4 WAS no one ever seems to have it on the cars in stock. Also, saw your posts with your stillen exsaust (believe it was you) looks and sounds great. I am considering it once I get mine.

I wanted to pay more like 37,700 they are giving me a hard time
What else am I missing before I pull the trigger
I am thinking I will have them put on the clear bra. Any other dealer add-ons I should look into
Thanks

GforaG,
Let's take a step back here. I agree that $1,000 off MSRP is not a much. But you also have to consider the availability of the car you are looking at. Black on Black with Prem/Nav/Tech is probably hard to find in Connecticut (or the Northeast, for that matter). I think this would be especially true for the G35S, given the RWD and the crappy winters (I know, I was born and raised in CT). Assuming this to be true, this dealer (any dealer) will obviously try to make the most money they can off of the deal if it is indeed a rare find.
In my case, my G35S has Prem/Nav/Tech/4WAS and they only gave me $1,500 off MSRP. I did get them to throw in a free detail and the cargo net, but other than that they wouldn't budge on the deal. I too thought this was nothing, but they kept telling me that my car was the only one like it in California, which I thought at the time was simply bull. But later on (after I bought the car) I did some research and found that cars equipped like mine were simply not readily available.
Also, keep in mind there is always someone else waiting in line for the opportunity to purchase the car out from under you while you try to find a dealer who will agree to your terms. Just to further make my point, on the evening I bought my car, I had just finished signing all of the papers, and was walking to my new car with my Salesman when I heard someone say "We want to look at the G35 with the 4-Wheel Steering". Later on the salesman told me that this young couple had come in ready to buy and wanted my car. So, if I had balked and continued to search for a better deal, I would more than likely have lost the opportunity and would have probably had to settle for something less.
Lastly, even if you were able to get them down to your price, you need to be very wary because dealers do not give up on a profit opportunity that easily. If you have a trade, they will try to 'lowball' you on the trade-in value to make up for what they gave you off the new car.
Bottom line - you need to decide how badly you really want the car. If meeting your price is of the utmost importance to you, then be prepared to risk losing this particular vehicle. Or you can take their deal and don't look back - that is except when you leave your buddies in the dust in your new G!!
Just my 2-cents worth!
I'm from NY. A friend from work just picked up a G35x Black/Black/Wood/Nav/Tech (loaded) on a lease for a pretty good deal. Somewhere around 3k+ off sticker on the cap cost. He bought it in Brooklyn, but he had a similar deal from Infiniti of Greenwich. The issue with Greenwich is that they couldn't find the african rosewood, and tried slapping on some aftermarket crap (all of their cars there have really bad looking aftermarket wood).
His deal basically worked out to $495/month with first payment, and TTL (about 3k). No cap cost reduction.
